AAR - Black gun: Quebec's patrol rifle competition

He only yells when people do asinine stuff. I too have a lot of respect for the amount of work he puts into us being allowed to shoot that game.

Boltgun

I have done about 5-6 matches with Tim running them and all were smooth as silk and super fun!

I have the upmost respect for Tim and all the time and energy he puts in so that we can have this unique tradition of Service Rifle competition in Canada...Its a privilege!

We are seriously lucky to have this commitment as from my understanding(Correct me if I am wrong) we are one of the only countries that allows Military, LE and Civi's to compete along side each other!

Let's keep these shooting/sports, competitions thriving and encourage everyone we can to come out...Stick together as you know if it wasn't for Service rifle matches I don't think we could even own AR's anymore!

As for Tim... He's the main reason that I don't go to the service rifle.

Did you ever serve in the CF?

Tim's a big plus to the service shooters. Just a bit abrasive to those who haven't had an indoctrination in military service. Water off a ducks back LOL

PS: one thing I feel bad about for your QC shooters is that "no blue sky" policy.. Seems so much nicer to shoot outside... :-(

Apart from the usual AR's, here are the other more interesting rifle types that i remember seeing at the event.

Tavor (at least 2 of them)
Norc Type 97
CZ 858 (mine ;-)
Benelli MR1
BRS-99

strangely; no SKS, no M14.

i certainly forgot some or missed people that shot in the morning. feel free to update this list.

The T97 has a new dot TRS-25 mounted as of tonight and will be properly sighted in next time out, so none of that horrible drift to the left. Also should resolve the feeding issue and won't be leaving the gas reg on bolt-action again. With some corrections to the other part of the equation (the shooter), next time out I should easily get into the triple digits  Trying to twist my buddy's arm to show up and shoot his SKS (or mine as it has a more comfortable stock and a peep).

Finally some pictures:
