My Abolt medallion 7wsm, love the wood, not sure of the weight but its a lite gun and well balanced. I looked at a plastic stock but am a sucker for gougeous peace of walnut.
My wood-stocked .280 is an ounce shy of 7 lbs, bare and unloaded. It feels considerably lighter than my Rem 700 CDL or my Ruger Hawkeye, neither of which I would call "heavy".
Thjanks guys, I own the Plastic version but a young friend was looking into a woodstock .270 Abolt, i just didnt want to get his hopes up without handling it himself....
Seems as if it were all ok an he purchased the rifle
Cheers!
Sometimes ive found a woodstock to be rather light...when comparing to friends synthetic model rifles, althought whats ontop makes a difference too!
X 2 on the wood , Good wood on traditional rifles and shotguns ,it makes them feel that you have quality in your hands . sit and polish the wood and then try it with composite it just loses that warm fuzzy feeling.
