about 300WSM

i have a m24 stock which only takes Remington short action

im tired of 308win i want to build a 300wsm sniper rifle(heavy barrel) with this stock

I looked up around seems there is nothing i can use out of box .

im thinking of buying a Rem 700 in 308win then use 300wsm reamer to ream the chamber to 300wsm
does it make science to you?

I used a short action (single shot) Savage when the had Range Sports Unlimited to up my 300WSM

Why not just buy a short action with a magnum boltface, bighorn sales can likely set you up with the action and a good barrel, have a smith assemble it. If you are on a tight budget watch for a decent stock on the ee. Rechambering the factory 308 barrel and opening the bolt face, or replacing the bolt is going to be close to the same cost as starting with a new barrel and the correct action.
