We negotiated equal time off so she's taking a week away from me and the kids since I'm taking a week away moose hunting in the fall. I'm in her good books because I surprised her by making reservations for a trip for her to spend her birthday with her twin brother in Salt Lake City.

Few more of these and I might have my mount! Although realistically it will be quite a stretch for me to do that Africa trip financially so I think I will be quite happy with a cull/meat hunt alone for the experience.

I'm shifting a lot of my attention to cull hunts too. One thing I like about those is when you leave you're done paying. Another is the volume of shooting, which will appeal to some and not so much to others. You still get a look at a different lifestyle, a different country and still experience a good jolt of culture shock. Most will give you the option of some trophy animals for the fee if you change your mind.
