about to ditch 1400 on a kimber Desert warrior.

I have one and I really like it. The color is nicer than what you see on the pic. Mine shoot right on, not to the left, and I've never had any of the problems stated above. The only thing I do to it is changing the grip for slimmer VZ desert canvas micarta. It now fit better in my hand + the fact that it look more good with those...

I have one and have to admit Kimber is situated on the top league near the top big brothers: DW, EdBrown, WilsonCombat, LesBaer...one fantastic 1911 !

PS: "near" doesn't mean situated on the same line (read level) with the big fancy "1911 bosses"
...end of the line all are the same if you have to use it, do the same job as the "poorman" cheap Norc1911

US market price range for BNIB pistols:

DWesson: 800-1100
Kimber: 800-1600
LesBauer: 1400-2500
WCombat:1200-3700

Wolfstrack, you've got a few tiers of 1911's there... I would agree that Kimber can contend with Dan Wesson, but neither touch an Ed Brown or Wilson Combat, let alone Les Baer.

I would put the Dan Wesson almost up to Wilson Combat. In fact DW uses a lot of WC parts.

There is no way you can compare Kimber to Wilson / Nighthawk / Ed Brown.

Go to 1911 forums and read up about Kimber issues, besides most Kimber models are same gun with different finish on them and the dreaded Schwartz safety doesn't help either.

Kimber does not contend with Dan Wesson. It's in the Springfield-Para Ord range.
