About Trijicon night sights

So after doing some research on the Trijicon night sights. Is there a way to tell if the sights are in good working order or are failing? Or is it more of if it glows in dark it is working?
 
Chk the stamping on the sights. It will tell you when they were made. Manufacturer will provide the shelf life on the model.
I have Trijicon night sight on both my Glocks and they are bright.
 
Ya I dont find these very bright. I will look and see. I just ordered the Glock which came with the sights already on it. Or ill take a picture and see what you guys think.
 
Trijicon sights have a half life of approx 12.5 years so by that time, they will be half as bright as new. It won't really ever go "off" per say, well, at least not within our lifetime.

H3 is the symbol for Tritium

11 is the manufacture year. You got a LONG way to go before she starts to dim on you.
 
Well im wondering because after a cleaning or two doesn't doesn't seem bright. I wipe the whole upper assembly down with solivent. But just doesn't seem crazy bright. Gun solivent.
 
From Trijicom website on cleaning:

Care should be taken to avoid prolonged contact of solvents on sight surfaces. Some synthetic and organic cleaning agents can affect the painted finish of Trijicon Night Sights. Immersing sights for an extended period of time in solvents may loosen some adhesive bonds. Sights can be cleaned with water by simply using a damp cloth followed by wiping with a dry cloth.

If you think something is wrong and they are dimmer, your solvents probably left some residue on them. Technically, tritium is a radioactive isotope that isn't affected by solvents or environmental changes etc. If you think something may be wrong with them, you can contact Trijicon and request an RMA. Not sure if there is a warranty center in Canada. If it has to be shipped to the US, you got the whole ITAR thing to deal with. ACK!

Mine are way brighter than that...how do you clean your lamps? I put a little drop of frog lube on the end of a q-tip and twist then use the unused side of the q-tip to dry the lamp, but that usually is to clean off the carbon around the white ring. I'll try taking a pic of my triji's.
 
Does it look that way in person? I mean it's hard to tell with vid, but it seems dim.

Mine are stamped 09 and it's in a lit living room.

I personally don't have a "real world" use for night sights. I shoot during daylight or in a well lit range. I really just wanted to replace the polymer Glock sights with steel ones. Mine glow nicely even in low lighting.
For $100 installed I went for it. Besides, they sure look pretty glowing away when I open the gun cabinet:)
Clean the tubes lens properly and have another look.
 
Maybe the cleaning solvents the OP used fogged the lenses? Not sure if that's possible but Trijicon does say to keep solvents away from it and just use water to clean them.
