Zero'd at 100m, .223, with a 55 grain bullet, will drop about 1.5 minutes at 200m and 5 minutes at 300m. Or to put it more simply, with a scope with 1/4" adjustments, 5 clicks from 100m to 200m then 11 more clicks from 200m to 300m. Does that help?
What do you mean acceptable?
I guess I did not word it correctly. What I meant was: when you have a bullet drop, what is normal and what is your poor aim? I have actually noticed now that some boxes of ammo list their bullet drops.
Thanks.
well i thought that better aim = closer to bullseye, and that is that, if your gun is not sighted in and you still hit the eye every time, then you got good aim
or is it grouping? how close together the bullets are (for semis of course).

Bullet drop is a fixed function of the rifle and ammo. Grouping is the ability of the rifle/ammo combination to keep the shots within a fixed area at the point of impact at a given range. Shooter ability or marksmanship is the art of keeping the shots in the target's bull's eye or aiming mark at all times and under all circumstances. The rifle/ammo accuracy is only a small part of that. Semi-auto or bolt action or any other action has nothing whatsoever to do with any of this
