Acceptable wait time for warranty work? Ruger RF

SnapShots is a terrible outfit. They don't carry much on hand and order most things in which takes longer then it should. I had damaged screws on a Ruger SR-22 and requested 5 replacement screws (4 + a spare). Cost me $5 a screw which is retarded and it took 3 emails over 2 weeks to get them to confirm my order. Then nothing in 2 weeks so I emailed, a week later they responded that I should have recieved it so they will send out a new package. I asked for the tracking and they didn't provide - yet i paid enough to cover a parcel/registered mail and the second package did have a tracker on it so clearly they forgot about my order the first time around.

Overall it was like 3 months until I could fix the gun. Avoid them if you can get the part for cheap online and do it yourself.

I think for me, asking them to install the rail to make sure its true would be too much for them to do. They did not even know how many mags come with these guns.

They were great till the point they received my gun and they dropped off the cliff.

Go on their website and they prefer you email with the part #. I don't think they're capable of being a warranty center.

Agree they dont know what customer service is. If that is the case they should relinquish being Ruger's warranty and parts centre.

Ruger needs a depot out west.
I wonder how many complaints they've received about Snapperhead's service and communication issues.

When I complained back in 2013 to Ruger they told me they have been getting other complaints about our warranty center. After about 8 months I was sent a new rifle, which wasn`t bad because it shot just a little bit better than the one I sent to have warranty work done. I will think twice before I buy another Ruger.

I ordered a fiber optic front sight for my SR1911 from them. They took forever to respond via email. I called them and had my sight at my house in 2 days. Try calling.

I'm 45, I have no problems calling people. I've called and talked with Carole more then once. In french and english though mostly english as my french is a bit rusty....
Communication is one problem but not ordering parts or ordering the wrong parts or loosing credit card numbers is hardly a communication problem.

I email for a paper trail but. I call when I don't get a reply back.

Feel for people who own those firearms should they need service or parts.

Yeah more bull####. You know they don't have much work when they know right away oh 2245 MKIII yeah we never got another in yet..Trying to tell me the distributor doesn't have any in stock to replace... Your telling me theres ZERO Ruger MKIII 2245 Target in CANADA? Thats BS And that no idea when they will come in. Its been a month since a replacement was suppose to be ordered.

It's not just Ruger though. I tried to get s small part for a Mossberg from Grech Outdoors and they told me it will be months.
Grech sucks, they are depot for savage, Remington, and others, took 3 months just to open the carton my gun was in and figure out what was wrong, then ordered a barrel that never came, a bunch of us with the same problem started bugging Savage Canada and got replacements! Sending your firearm to Grech is like a black friggin hole! Another depot that may or may not be better is in St. John's N.L.
Basically I think most U.S. Firearms companies do not service Canadian sold firearms very well at all!

This true I ordered a Ruger SR bolt spring from Snapshot with my Visa card 5 years ago, still waiting.Whats my chances ????

Heck I avoided them when I needed parts for my S&W, Went to a place in BC. Same day the parts were shipped. I dont think I'm going to get an email back from HEY I told them twice to inspect it and if anything is crooked it will come back.

I had sent in a revolver for a safety conversion to Snap Shots, took a year. 3 small parts and 15 mins of work. I had to call a Ruger rep in the states and had her call them, only then did they see the need to do it in a timely fasion. I would never send anything to Snap Shots again and I will never recommend them. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen.

Yeah I'm waiting to hear from Karla about this one. The belt sanding wasn't as noticeable on my last, and front sight wasn't crooked on the last. When my wife that never really handled firearms noticed, what tells you about the repair people?

Umm so is it better to just take a newly bought firearm to a gunsmith and pay for their services? I'm guessing you'd have to pay shipping plus insurance both ways to send to Snapshot, which will be upwards of $50.

No they paid the return for my last. But to get the front sight moved a mm or two to the right to be straight. I know not a big deal but shouldn't be shipping guns out with crooked sights. Esp when they claim to be target model.

I got any email. They knew about the sight being crooked and tried to fix it with a more straight front sight. Then they shouldnt have transferred and shipped that one to me.

Any idea of the turn-around time? I'm wondering if it will be gone for a long time after I send it off by CP?

It took me 5 months to get a replacement gun. July 21st is when they received it. I received the gun back Nov 23 rd. They blamed it on Ruger and the distributor not having the model. But really its Location Snap Shot.

Who knows how long it will take, some said weeks to get parts, some said years. Avg people said is 6 months. You really need to hound them. I found out location snap shot doesn't even have the ability to get parts. If they need a replacement part they need to call the distributor and get it from there and if they don't got it, Need to get it from Ruger. to the distributor, to warranty center.
