Does anyone know where I could find any 5/8-24 threaded muzzle breaks for the Savage Hog hunter? Oh and I am also looking for a cheek rest much like ;

But perhaps in an Olive Drab to match the rifle.

Did anyone hear of any after market stocks and accessories coming out for these little gems?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

Savage uses a standard 5/8x24 tpi on their brake/comp'd rifles regardless if it's a .223 or .308 caliber.

5/8x24 tpi is a standard AR10 (.308) thread, so anything that fits those will work. Also Questar carries a PWS reducer down to 1/2x28 tpi, thus allowing to use any AR15 brake or comp, should you have the .223 version.

IIRC the o.d. of the barrel is around .876, so if your looking for something that flows nicely from the barrel to the brake/comp you plan on purchasing, keep that in mind. Also you'll need to acquire some .308 crush washers as spares (@$8-$10/ea) in case you have to index the new brake/comp.

I've seen quite a few Savages with PWS FSC30's on them & they look good. A nice even flow O.D. wise from the barrel.

I ordered a Tac Ops Cheek Pad in Multi Cam (they have OD Green as well) from a local dealer who has an account with Brownells. You should be able to order it online from them easily enough.

Hope this helps

Thanks ShrtRnd I do like the PWS FSC30 a lot, now its just to find one. The clean flow from barrel to muzzle break is exactly what I am looking for so these details help a lot. I just noticed that SFRC carries Blackhawk items including the Cheek Pad that I am looking for, however they are all sold out currently.

Thanks again for the helpful info and the reply!
