I have started ordering my first 308 rifle:

-Tikka T3x CTR 20" Barrel
-Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 FFP (I was going to order the 3-15x version but found a great sale where the 5-25x was much cheaper, so decided to go for that)
-Vortex Precision Match Rings (0.97")
-Vortex Defender Caps

I just got asked to do some overtime so I will have around 500 dollars extra for accessories: I was thinking about a good muzzle brake, bipod and sling.

Does anyone have any experience with the TT Terminator Muzzle Brake?

Is buying a real BT10 Atlas worth the price? Or is it good enough to get the 60$ bipod copy from amazon?

Any other accessories that I should purchase instead of these or appart?

Thanks

I’ve got a Heathen muzzle brake on the way for my CTR. Give me a week and hopefully I’ll let you know how good it is. I would spend the cash on a good bipod. Bipods are quick to detach / attach and can be used on probably all of your rifles. Slings are handy but you can go without.

I've got my T3x CTR .308 20" (in lefty) set up pretty similar to the way you're going:

Vortex Precision 30mm Medium rings

Nice. What size of Heathen did you buy? I noticed they have 2 diameters 0.885 and 0.995

Started as a ctr but decided to switch the stock out for a KRG bravo stock. Go with a heathen brake from insite arms it's an awesome product

Also I forgot to ask, what Picatinny rail adapter are you using there? I was thinking about getting this one.

Yesterday I ordered the Atlas PSR BT46-LW17, I need to figure out how to put it on the Tikka

The sling stud adapter I used is called "Weaver 48328 Picatinny System". Bought it on Amazon.

It's pretty secure but I wish it was a little more low profile.

Yea ive looked at amazon options and they seem to be pretty thick. I finally went with the BT15 from Accu-Shot which seems to be very low profile. Is from the same company than the Atlas bipod so it should work very well and hopefully have the same finish.

I'm not really sure how the Weaver attaches but the Caldwell only uses 1 point to attach itself to the stock (the swivel stud) so it could end up rotating. The BT15 has 2 points to attach to the stock and leaves your swivel stud usable. I will just have to drill 2 holes and use T nuts to attach it, this way I believe it will be much more secure. Here is a video explaining how to attach it.

As you can see in the video this is very low profile.

i have a heathen brake on my t3x ctr (6.5 creedmoor) and it works exceptionally well. i did have the yodave trigger spring upgrade installed which felt pretty good but then upgraded to a bix'n'andy trigger which is much nicer. the rifle also has a bell&carlson stock.

today i picked up a bartlein 5r barrel for it and will probably send it to ralph colgan in quebec to ream the chamber, thread the muzzle and have it bedded.

I wish CGN would institute a rule that bans people who advocate knock-off products, like bipods. You're essentially stealing from those who innovate and bring good quality products to market. Plus, the knock-off stuff blows. Why cheap out on what essentially provides the base support for your precision rifle?

Harris bipods work goodand are inexpensive. Atlas's are good too - have a couple of them but recently replaced the one on my PRS rifle with a Ckye-Pod, which I absolutely love. The new Magpul bipod is worth a look too if you are on a budget.

I'm running a Heathen brake on my CTR, and a Harris Bipod. But I usually use my Gamechanger bag and not the bipod anyway.

I run a Leupold 4.5-14 VX3i LRP on it, and its hits where I point it. And I use cheap ammo. All the time. Great rifles. I may change out the stock to a Cadex but I'm still on the fence.
