Was wondering if someone could provide some advice on how to find accommodations for a hunting trip this fall. There are 6 of us, looking for a cottage in WMU 47 or 49 (Parry Sound over to Huntsville and North to Lake Nipissing) We would be coming from the Kitchener Area.

This is the first time I've planned a trip like this and I was wondering how some of you go about narrowing down your searches? I've checked Kijiji, googled hunting accommodation for each area respectively etc but there is this mountain of information which most of it is irrelevant to my needs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try looking for Rental Cottages . . . there are 31 listed in the Huntsville and Area Yellow Pages directory.

Thanks Otto. I've checked Cottage Rentals, most are seasonal and do not go much past September, they are usually on lakes, higher end properties and the few I have contacted don't want hunters. I guess they are envisioning a bunch of drunken idiots gutting animals in their living rooms... :/

Don't need anymore cityfied yahoo's in my area.... LOL

Seems we are already over run with the quads, and 4 wheeler crowd as is.

;)

lol I feel your pain but don't be so quick to paint us all with the same brush. Originally from the east coast I've always been an out door person but due to a motor vehicle accident where a 19yr old kid thought my motorcycle was a speed bump, I don't have as much long distance mobility as I'd like anymore. So I actually do use an ATV. I don't however feel a need or desire to tear up the land while using it. Our family has always tried to take a minimal impact approach to nature, leave it as close to as we found it, pick up any garbage we see, even if it's not ours. As for the city, can't be helped, have to go where the work is... or in the case of our area... use to be.

I believe there is a few motels in whitestone, or dunchurch, but if you are looking for a cottage you may be hard pressed to find anything.

As you say most close their cottages down for the winter, and won't be bothered after the summer vacations seasons are over.

Google Dunchurch or Whitestone accomidations and there are a few options.
