Finally able to find a box of accubonds 180gr in 300 win mag locally ("trophy grade" ammo from Nosler)! At canadian tire of all places too.

Can't wait to use these babies on moose this fall!

Anyone else use 'em? Hope the Zastava likes thems.

Ive had Great experiences with 130gr Accubonds for bear and Deer out of a 260, they mushroom, penetrate and retain weight very well for me, my go to projectile for hunting.
Happy hunting this fall,

Last autumn (2019) I killed a 6 point bull elk, 130 grain out of my 270 Win. Accubond and ballistic-tips are the most accurate hunting bullet I ever used..............and they kill quite well.

Just got some Winchester Expedition 142 gr Accubond Long range ammo for my 6.5 CM. Will test it out at the range next week.

I’ve used a fair amount of Accubonds on game; mostly 180 30s, 160 7mms (with more than a few 140s), 130 270s and 110 25s.

In a general sort of way the on-game performance is similar to Partitions. They tend to shed between 1/3 and 1/2 of their weight, and rip big nasty wound channels.

I’ve used the 180 grain Accubond in the 300 RUM on Asiatic buffalo, scrub bull, grizzly and torched the barrel in short order feral culling. Your moose won’t be a problem.

Are those the ones with the special black lube on them? The owner of a local range was telling me that the junk they leave in the barrel is very hard to get rid of! That's why I wanted to go for the standard accubonds.

Let me know if that's not the case!

Music to my ears ;-)

I just picked up a Box of 150 gr .284 Accubonds to try out in my 280 AI any one else running them in theres ? RJ
Yep. In my 280ai, max load of H4831sc right at 3000fps. Nothing fancy but really accurate and was easy to get there. I’ve ran a few 180 accubonds into elk. Work as expected. What I like about accubonds is you can swap over to the ballistic tip for cheaper plinking, usually without changing anything.

I use BOTH and i FEEL that the Accubond in a more accurate bullet then the TTSX and will expand better at longer distance and expand FOR Sure Better at long range ! jmo RJ

That's a pretty great endorsement!
Where do you set the accubonds off the lands for initial load development?

My hunting partner shot his Elk last week with his 270 WSM and the 130 Accubond.
175 yards, through the front shoulder blade, ranging back through lungs at an angle,
and was recovered under the hide at the 3rd rib from the back.

Bullet still weighs 74 grains, and retained the core. Looks classic as to expansion.
Elk went 20 feet and collapsed. Very good performance, particularly at those speeds.
The wound channel was impressive....lungs were mush.

I am confident, when shooting Accubonds now. Stout construction, but good expansion
even at lower speeds. For chamberings that are "faster", I have pretty well settled on
4 bullets: Nosler AB, Nosler Partitions, Swift A-Frames, Swift Scirocco IIs.

The TTSX is a great bullet, but expansion becomes unreliable at lower speeds. I have 2
that have been recovered that did not expand at all, and the animal had to be shot again
and again to anchor. Dave.
