Accubonds!

I figure the ABLR bullet will work fine in a slow moving Creedmoor round out to 400 yds or so. Should have decent expansion and won't shed too much weight at that range. That's as far as I plan on shooting.

At one time Wanstalls had the best price on Nosler Accubond 165 gr in 308, if i recall correctly, they were selling 200 round of this ammo for 199.00 shipped.
It was a no brainer that i was to stack up ( 5 ) and i did.

It's the hardest hitting 308 factory ammo of great quality and IS my hunting round.

I have not noted excessive meat damage with the Accubonds. I have seen and butchered a couple dozen big game animals shot with them at ranges from 50 - 450 yards, no difference that I could tell from the many dozens of animals shot with Partitions or other semi bonded/bonded bullets, or stout C&C bullets. I don't think I would exclude them from consideration if they are the most accurate and consistent bullet from your rifle... better 5 pounds of wasted meat compared to 500 pounds of wasted meat.

That's why they're known as AccuBombs up here. They ruin way too much meat in big animals like moose and big mountain caribou bulls.

Shot a big Mule Deer with Accubonds a couple of years ago. Right through the heart. First time I’ve ever had stomach contents come out of a pair of holes in the chest cavity. A hunting buddy who is a vet looked at that and had the same reaction. That and a Whitetail they made a mess of were enough for me.

Here’s one that went thru two hefty goat shoulders and got stuck in the offside hide. ~75% weight retention. I pulled another one out of his spine (but lost it) and it looked the same.

Frankly, I wish it wrecked more meat on that stinky old bastard.

Never seen an accubond fail .Are you sure your not confusing them with Longrange Accubonds or Ballistic tip.I feel they are one of if not the best tuff bullet out there .I personally have harvested a lot of game with no issues.338 6.5 and 7 mm .Same story for all of my hunting partners

I was in the bush guiding a couple weeks ago and put my hand into a pocket and found a 140 grain 6.5mm Accubond bullet that I removed from under the offside hide of a Mountain Goat shot at 430 yards... it did the job admirably.

I load 250 Accubond in my 9.3x62. Nice, repeatable 3 shot triangle groups when I check the scope at 100 yards - over several seasons, and usually once in between hunting seasons - always very close to 3/4"-to-the-side three shot groups from sandbags. That rifle is also the one I have "handy" for black bears in the back yard. Was easy to "sight in". Unfortunately, no "meat" has got in the way yet, so no experience with them on game!!! I used the Varget load as published by John Barsness - have not found any reason to change from that.
