What are most guys doing? Buying more like a drunken sailor on leave or downsizing and keeping a couple? Thinking of adding a couple more, may sell the ones I haven’t shot in a while. Decisions decisions.

Always tailoring my collection to suit my wants and needs. Funny thing is, what I thought I would never sell, I have sold and what I didn't think I wanted 6 months ago are on my need it now list.

I'm short a couple pieces and over loaded on a couple of others.

Govt can kiss my ass, it doesn't affect what I buy.

Perfectly sums up my habits.

I started substantially downsizing in 2019. Realized I’d rather shoot fewer guns more often and use that money elsewhere. At one point I had nearly 30 hand guns, mostly higher-end pieces, that just sat in the safe. I sold everything that wasn’t a .22, .32, 38/357, or 9mm, and moved a bunch in those that rarely made it out. Only regret selling two of my .45’s.

I’m going to do a few final adjustments if possible. Will get rid of my remaining revolvers and out of .38/.357 entirely, potentially move out a Glock 48 and USP Expert, and look to pick up a nice non-railed 1911 in .45. Already bought a Ruger 22/45 Lite for the kids.

I slowly got rid of the ones I didn't want over the last few years, often in order to fund other ones. Now I realise that there were a few I really regret letting go. I probably won't sell any of the ones I have remaining but I will be very selective of the last few I add.

I’m adding.

Only thing I’m considering selling is a 1975 Colt Python. I bought it purely as a collector not to shoot. May change my mind as It hasn’t sold yet, but at this moment, guns that I want to shoot seem more useful than something to collect.

Housekeeping, but overall I honed and upgraded my collection.

Sold some handguns that I didn't enjoy shooting that I'd been sitting on and wouldn't want to keep for a long haul, and bought some handguns that I'd always wanted. Re-bought two that I regretted selling.

No change in total number of handguns for now but might end up with another .22lr

There's always some ebb & flow...

BUT with the 'freeze' announcement I went 'full cowboy' picking up revolvers for fear that I would never be able to participate in Cowboy Action Shooting...

Cheers
Jay

I have sold a few that I liked, but don't shoot, and am keeping the ones that I do. I am very happy with what I presently have.

In the 3-4 months before the ‘announcement’ I sold all 5 I had and bought one new 9mm keeper. Sold 2 .22’s, 2 9mm and one .45acp. Day after announcement bought another new 9mm and 30 days after the announcement bought a final new 9mm. So I end up with 3 9mm keepers if the transfers clear.

I bought a glock 21 before they cleared out on EE but that's it, playing the waiting game on the transfer now. At this point I have enough, until I go see some new ones at the shotshow in Mississauga come September that could twist my arm depending on if the turd doesn't extend his summer break.

I am a use it or sell it type of guy. I do not have safe queens if they become a safe queen I sell them. Over the past 6 months I have been selling and buying and keeping my number around the same. Since the May 18 non restricted announcement I indulged myself with a few and then when the handgun issue came up I just expedited my purchases. I sold a gun last December that I am having sellers remorse so I had to replace that one as well.

i have this bad habit of not selling my guns.
i just buy another safe and move the ones i dont shoot very often into it.
and then i buy another safe....
and then i buy another safe....
well you get the picture.

i thought i had enough handguns, but then when the govt announced what they were doing i did some soul searching and added 3 more that always wanted.
i think my collection is pretty rounded out now.
i think its cute when people say they had 30 guns and that was too many.
those are rookie numbers son!

I sold anything fancy or "collectoresque" since chances are we wont be able to sell or trade them in the future. Only keeping practical items for shtf.

I look at it like this. I always remember the great cars, motorcycles, guns I have owned but can never remember what I did with the money when I sold them. If I like something I never sell anything anymore. If I liked it once I will prob want it again in the future.
