well, perhaps your dog will say one day (hopefully;)), there is no way on this spinning green ball I'm gonna get ripped apart and et by that bear to save my unfaithful a-hole undeserving of me master. Think about it, things have a way of working out for the way they should!;) It brings a huge smile to my face, when it works out that way!:)
P.S. I would question that about "your friends", I just don't think you have the balls enough of actually following through with that statement if it came right down to it! Do you? Your own dogs is a no way, so I call BS on you taking a bullet for your friends!;) I think you'd turn yellor and run!

Two Dogs your priorities are all screwed-up... I have to think that you have no children... If you did, and you went ahead and "took the bullet" for your dog what happens to your children? Your family? Do you value the HUMANS in your life so little? Dogs are wonderful ANIMALS, but they are not people... Your behavior and assertions here remind me of that story from California a few years ago, where the woman was out jogging and was killed by a mountain lion in a suburb... She was a single mother of two small children. The authorities tracked and killed the mountain lion but discovered that it was a female and had two small cubs in a den. They local citizens started a fund to raise money for the woman's children and at the same time there was a fund started for the two orphaned cubs by some PETA-types... The cubs received TWICE AS MUCH money as the children!!! That is seriously screwed up. Two Dogs, you should move to California, they are your kind of people.

As for questioning my courage, well... You don't know me so I won't bother responding to your pettiness.

My kids and friends know I will be here when they need me... I won't be six feet underneath a weeping poodle!
(I figure that you are a poodle guy)

So recently I picked up a Ruger 77/44. Ive been collecting various loads for it, but have yet to get in significant range time.

Just curious what I should be expecting in terms of accuracy. This is my first pistol cartridge rifle, I really have no idea what to expect.

25m? 50m? 100m?

Thanks

I had one for 2yrs. and it shot just fine out to 200yds. at my range using 240gr. hard cast LSWC over 12gr. of Blue Dot.
Mind you, this was whacking a 12" gong for fun after dialing the little bugger in at 80yds. At this distance my Ruger was printing at around 1.25" on average with this load. I never fired jacketed bullets through this rifle, but if you check out Jeff Quinn's review and load data on Gunblast.com, you'll find it to be a very versatile and accurate little rifle.

I wish Remington had kept making the Model 788 in .44 magnum because the one I owned back in the late '70's was simply astounding in the accuracy dept. With factory Rem 240gr. jacketed soft points, I shot a 1.38" 3 shot group at 200yds. at Victoria Fish & Game from the bench. This was a well witnessed feat that I'm still pleased with.

This was with a Bushnell 1.5-4.5 scope on top and using a front-bag rest only. Un-frickin' real what that gun could do as far as jacketed bullets were concerned.

As for cast, it sucked because of the rifling was too shallow, and even pure linotype would skip over the lands and make for shotgun type groups.

You won't be dissapointed in the little Ruger once you do a bit of load testing and getting used to the bugger.
As for bear blasting and such, put the pill in the right spot and try to stay under 100 yds. for best results.

Oh no, I ain't a pooh poo poodle type of guy! I'd love to move down south, how about a little east, maybe Arizona? As you say, you know nothing about my situation and family, so I won't fill you in. I'm an old dude, if I took a bullet for my dogs and went to Heaven or Hell tomorrow, nobody would care much! Only my dogs would miss me! They are my world! Glad to hear that the "cubs" got some doe for their cause!:p

If you "kick-off" your dogs won't miss you... After a couple days with no food in their dish, they'll find your carcass... Your legacy will live on...
