Accuracy of Czech surplus in your SKS

I am curious as to what kind of accuracy people are getting with the Czech surplus using their SKS rifles. I already bought a Russian SKS, and am picking up a crate this week which I am pretty excited about (though I'm still on the fence about picking up an 858 or not). This thread is just for reference purposes for those looking to use this combo.... and yes, for bragging about your marksmanship skills lol


1. What country of origin is your SKS? China, Russia, or Yugoslavia.

2. Scoped or iron sights? Factory stock or aftermarket?

3. What kind of groups are you getting with your rifle shooting Czech surplus at what distances, AND/OR at what impressive distances are you hitting what sized gong at?

4. What is the manufacture date on your crate of Czech surplus? Thought I'd throw this in.... the more info the better!

I'm using surplus russian i think it is pretty much the same corrosive stuff, but with my russian sks im getting around 2-3inch groupings with irons sights at 100yards from what i remember

Pretty good. I got bullseye at 100yds with open sights

A friend makes 4" groups with his scoped (NC Star 3-9x) Russian Tula 1952. I make 6" groups with my Norinco (open sights), but I have bad eyes, need to change the lenses on my glasses! Benches at my club are at a lasered 113 meters from targets. I want to experiment with this ammo. I read an article about changing the bullet for a better one on surplus ammo, in Hanloager magazine. I need to buy a good puller and seater die!

promising I just picked up a case of the czech stuff , I didn't think it would be that good, I will have to see what it does in my factroy sighted russian sks
