Rifle arrived. It feels a lot smaller, lighter and balances better than it did in its original form. Checkering is simple: four panels although LPI is much finer. The tang was contoured to follow the new line of the wrist, and the safety was repositioned to followed that. An original Sako receiver peep sight is on it right now but I also have a few scope choices: my trusty 1 inch 4x Swarovski, a new 1 inch 1-4X Nikon or a new 30mm 1-6X 20mm Meopta. My choice will depend on how they balance the rifle. All have German #4 reticle. First half-warm day ( by which I mean anything over -5 C.), I'm off to the range. Here's a few photos:

did you sent the pictures to Sako?
Several people have told me to send the pictures to Sako....But is there any real reason to do this?...that is, do their stock designers really care what I think a good rifle looks and handles like? I seriously doubt it. But I did it anyway...I sent pictures and description to both Stoeger Canada and Sako...using email addresses from their websites...both emails were returned as "undeliverable"...so I put a few photos and brief description on the Sako Facebook page (but it doesn't seem to be there anymore).
By the way, I decided to stick with my trusty Swarovski 4X on this rifle, mounted in old original medium Sako mounts. Its relatively light, balances well and I'm used to it. Over the past several decades, I've seen a lot of game through that scope (Its even on the rifle in my avatar to the left).

I have the bavarian (non carbine) on my Sako 6.55 and I love it. It comes to my eye just fine with the Sako mounts and risers.
But I think its fantastic that you got your rifle tuned so specifically to you, and it looks great.
It shoots as advertised with a range of ammo and no ejection problems in 120-140 rounds.
