Under ideal circumstances, with a heavy barreled 1:8" twist AR-15, decent trigger and shooting off bags, I get frustrating and erratic performance from standard grade 223 ammunition. A couple touching, then one 1" low and another an inch high at 100 yards. With match grade ammo or hand loads, I can shoot 10 into an inch at 100 yards. But with Remington, Winchester or American Eagle cheap ammo, anything is possible, a good group, a lousy group. Nothing crazy like 4" groups, but just frustrating points of impact that I don't think reflect the capabilities of the equipment.
