Accuracy vs velocity

I have wanted to see what changes would be made with different velocity ammo. I have been using Eley Match @ 1078 fps for the past year and wasn't really happy with it. I recently got 4 boxes of Eley match with velocities of 1056, 1060, 1062 and 1063 fps. I removed the tuner from my rifle
(Anschutz 54 Match/Llija barrel/Leupold Competition 45X and a McMillan BR50 stock) and shot 5 shot groups at 50 yds. with each ammo. It would appear that the 1056 fps shot the best, at least a case will be ordered and shot again with the tuner installed. How about you benchrest shooters, what have you found?

That stray sighter looks like it hit the paper while it was wobbling. Bottom two groups look great. Since you typically shoot with the tuner you should be ammo testing with the tuner on not off.

Not a stray sighter, that came from a pistol shooter in the next bay shooting at 10 yds. I took the tuner off to see which ammo grouped the tightest and will now replace the tuner and dial in for the selected ammo.
