Are you guys havng any luck with TB, accuracy-wise? I've tried it in 2 44 Mags and 2 45-70's, and I can get minute-of-cowboy at short range, but nothing decent on paper. When I use the same boolits and another powder, I get good groups.

I've never used it in 44 mag but use it in 45-70, 375 H&H and 8mm French Ordnance with good results. It's a very fast powder and I find it works better with lighter bullets.

Hmmm, I guess I'll have to go back and try it again. I'll try some different powders first, just to see if it's the gun I was using today, But my other 45-70 is extremely accurate. I may have to try lighter boolits - I was using 405 gr.

Any signs of bullet tumbling? I've shot really light loads before (9 mm and 357) where this happens. What kind of velocity are we talking about?

Just this past weekend I tried some Trail Boss in an old 1894 38-55 Winchester with very good results. With a full case of powder (full to the base of the bullet), 250 grain plain base lead bullets averaged 1125 fps. I fired two groups at 50 yards, 8 shots into 1" and 10 shots into 1-1/8".

My first experience with Trailboss was in a 45-70 Shiloh Sharps with 385 gr cast bullets using a Soule mid-range aperture sight.

Off the bench it consistently kept them well inside a 2" black dot at 100 yards. Sound was a quiet "tuk".

Still one of my favourite plinking loads.

I use tb in 303 British with 125 gr plated bullets use 14.3gr because I have a dipper for that accurate load.. Well as well as I can shoot with smle sights

How much powder did you use? I was filling the case about 3/4 (didn't weigh it).

I have used Trailboss in 45ACP with good results. Load it to the max (case full, not compressed) and it seems to work pretty well. At least as well as I do.
