Im looking to purchase another 22LR Semi that is very accurate. I had a Magnum Research 22LR and they are quite accurate but I got rid of it ( wasnt shooting 22lr enough) but now Im looking for something similar in accuracy.

I dont want a bolt action as I already have an Anschutz model 54 ( in case some of you are suggesting I should get a bolt action) which is extremely accurate

Any suggestions on what I should consider

KiDD Supergrade is what you want but have never seen one here & they will cost you $1600+ You could get another Magnum Research 22LR or Tactical Solutions X-Ring still not a KIDD. cost for a MLR 22 $1000+ and the TacSol $1200+

I have a Magnum Research 22LR receiver / bolt kit going on EE soon I would say drop a KiDD or Green Mountain barrel into it. I'm on the fence about trading my X-Ring receiver & bolt for a DAR22 limited or DAR 22 Cerakote / KIDD kit.
But the issue is value the X-Ring is worth a lot more then a Dlask frame & KiDD bolt. I find the Tacsol X-Ring more for light weight or speed/race gun shooting. I'm trying to build a target / Bench gun. Hence why I'm thinking about trading the X-Ring kit.

My biggest concern is the fit with Dlask frame & KiDD bolt. years ago there was issues with Dlask / Kidd bolt matches. I have heard this was resolved a few years back.
problem buying used is you might end up with a older per issue Dlask frame, So logic would be to buy from Dlask direct or used DAR22 Limited Edition or Cerakote model which would have this issue avoided.

WayUpNorth has build his share of Dlask DAR22 - 10/22's and could add to this. I'm not sure he can pull off what with his Dlask build guns using Dlask barrels.
I'm sure as a shooter WayUpNorth can shoot very well, as he knows what needs to be done, quality ammo was an issue for him to acquire & time I think he said. I have a challenge for him this summer.

BUT! what I'm looking for in accuracy on a bench-target 10/22, we talked about it briefly. I'm talking 5 shot groups under 3/8" @50yds and sub MOA under 3/4" @ 100yds. right ammo & skill on the trigger.

to tell you the truth I want to push the envelope on this KiDD barrel I must get under 1/4" @ 25yds all day long and would be thrilled to get that at 50yrd as well.
I also want to push the 100yd mark with even tighter groups then my above stated that is my true goal.

I wanted to do this with a Canadian built Dlask frame & Bolt or Dlask frame & KiDD bolt, but didn't get much help from staff from Dlask on the phone, I got more of an attitude that this can't be done & was blow off.
So I also might end up doing this goal with a X-Ring frame & bolt.

Another amazing semi is the Tactical Solutions Xring in some form. With a good ammo it was my first gun to produce nickel size groups at 50 yards. It is likely better than that but I'm a benchrest shooting newbie in so many ways.

Marlin 795, add a Boyd stock pillar bed the action free float the barrel, m carbo spring kit, Diversified innovative products trigger group and guard. Grand total should be under 500 if you install the parts and do the work yourself.

I may have to look at the Tactical Solutions X-Ring - I have not read many reviews on them.
The CZ 512 intrigues me for some reason. I know it isnt in the same class as the XRing but I may have to find some more info
Brocolt - thanks for all your info - gives me something to think about
I also came across the Anschutz MSR RX22 PRECISION which is supposed to be very accurate due to the Anschutz barrel but Im not into the tactical style stock

Stevens 87C .
I like the old school stuff ( an option for those who are looking ) and prefer iron sights ...looking down that long barrel , if I can see it , I can put a hole in it . And that goes for anybody else who has shot it . I bought this in the late '70s .Time tested fun , reliable and deadnutz accurate . My GT rifle

I picked this up about 5yr ago .
Rem 597 mag ( 22mag ) Topped with a Ruko 3x8 scope.
Bought is specifically for coyote , where I need a ethical one shot kill without destroying the pelt .
Check out the price tag on the ammo..lol

There isn't much information about the X-Ring rifles, we'll at least not on their performance. I bought one a year ago and it was out of service due to a faulty trigger, then again but a botched repair which finally got resolved. Since I've got it back I can say that it shoots okay but I haven't spent much time since then trying to get the groups tighter. I was slightly turned off by the issues I had with it.

I can say the gun runs flawlessly now. I could speed dump at 25 round mag time and time again (when it was legal to use them) and from my former days in paintball I can fire that thing at near full auto speed. It is very light and balances well and their trigger is pretty OK which is a big improvement on stock but less than a KIDD. With the hogue stock it just feels right but an accurate bench gun it has yet to become.

I have a Volquartsen built 10-22 that is vg, I also have a Rem. 597 Yellowjacket that I put in VQ hammer kit & extractor kit, also shoots better than me. Both guns I'll do 1/2 at50 yds but I have a hard time doing 5 in a row :( . It's me not the guns. How much $$ and how accurate is needed? Good luck, AJ

If you are looking for lots of bling, fancy fat aluminum barrels and some wow factor; while still maintaining the familiarity of the 10/22 platform, then yes TacSol X-ring, Kidd, VQ, etc. are the way to go. But expect to spend a grand or better.

If you just want a .22 semi that is just reliable and consistently accurate at a somewhat reasonable price (I know, boring right??) then the CZ 512 is the gun to beat; and much cheaper than any of the aforementioned 10/22 variants. Plus, CZ now has 25 round magazines if that is something that interests you.

Testify, brother!

The Stevens 87 and Savage 6A are fun and accurate rifles with unique and interesting actions. Very entertaining.

Well, I went with the CZ 512. Came across a deal on a new one that was too good to pass up - got the scope mounted but now I need to wait for things to slow down so I can get back out to the range. It feels good when I shoulder it so I guess we will soon see if its a shooter or not
