Hi,

Hi have a tikka T3 action mounted to an XLR Evolution chassis and using Accurate mag. Everything is working fine, but the mag have such sloppiness in the magwell.

Wonder what other have found in the different mag with the ''fit'' to their chassis or BDM. Are AICS mag a little bigger? I have read that Pmag (AICS pattern) are slightly bigger than Accurate mag. But I also know the Pmag does'nt work without modification to the mag or the action in a Tikka T3.

Looking for input.

Thanks!

I have run an ai aics mag and a ruger branded accurate mag aics in my ae mkiii. Both felt similar and both fed great.

I have run AI mags, Accurate Mags and MDT 5 Round metal. All 3 are similar.

Also run Accurate .223 which did not have very good COAL. For .223 I run MDT plastic which allow for generous COAL.

Do they feed reliably? If it works, what's the problem? A bit of slop will ensure the mag is drop-free, and easier to insert over a tight fitting one.

Or is it just the rattle you don't like?

My brother in law has an accurate mag for his lss chassis and hates the mag rattle too. Too much noise for hunting he says.

I too would like to know what the best solution is.

I don't care as much about rattle noise as I do about function and reliability.

I have a Savage 10TR .308 Win. mounted in a MDT LSS-XL. I currently have only one 10-round "Accurate Mag". It insert, locks, feeds, and drops fine. The problem I have is that after every shot, it disengages and drops partially or completely out of the rifle! Seems recoil related to me. Any suggestions on solutions? I wish it was as easy as buying a different brand of mag.

Thanks for your replies.

1st check the spring in the mag release. They arent always installed perfectly and poor spring tension could do this.

2nd check mag release lever tip for wear. If it is rounded that would cause this problem. I expect this to be rare but heat treating errors do occur.

3rd check the mag for the mag catch. does it have wear on it?

Also confirm that simply pulling down on the mag once locked in won't release it.

If you want to take the rattle out of the mag well pant your mags. might take a couple coats but will tighten the clearances. This being said I can't stand a tight mag well
I need my mags to drop free and insert quickly.

Very interested in this, just ordered a Cadex chassis and it takes accurate mags.

I am using a cadex chassis and I find that the accurate mags rattle way to much and it drives me crazy, the ai mag fits tighter but I now just use the magpul pmags to tame down the rattle and they feed fantastic. Shot about 60 rounds at a match on the weekend without any feeding issue.
