Accurate non restricted semi auto rifle, which to get?

The RA XCR is interesting if you got a kit you could flip between .223 and .308

No he couldn't. The RA XCR-L is offered in .223 / 7.62x39 / 6.8 spc. If he wants .308 he would need an XCR-M wich is *curently* only available only in .308winchester and isn't changeable to other calibers for the moment. Unless you call 7.62x39 .308 wich would technically be correct but...

Snip

The RA XCR is interesting if you got a kit you could flip between .223 and .308, and people who own it seem to like it. I am not as drawn to this option because, unlike the above two options, no army in the world has ever fielded a RA XCR so it is not as "proven" as many of the other options on this thread.

Snip.

I can name more then a few rifles that outperform the "proven" mil standard rifles in every respect... If the issued rifle was perfect then nobody would modify or alter them.

As well nobody has reinvented the wheel recently, Examples being XCR, FN SCAR and various piston driven AR's.... SKS, AK47, Cz, Vz, various other combloc piston semi autos.... Keltec, Tavor, type 97 etc etc.

If you want to express your individuality with uber uniqueness then buy a Kriss or pimp out a H&K and have the online hoards drooling, buy a XCR or black/green special and have a pre built non restricted AR eater OR!!! Buy a AR and build it however you like.

There are no wrong answers here... Just overwhelming options.

I've you have the money, why don't you get one of these:

https://www.volquartsen.com/products/432-evolution

They take AR magazines as well which means you can use LAR15s. Voquartsen has canadian distributers so you should be able to get one, though it might take a few months.

milarms gets these in? I haven't seen any samples there. interesting... I was there yesterday getting an 870 extension (found an 8 shot for $30 in the surplus area and i might go back for the 10 shot) and his non-res 223 semi auto selection was limited to mini14s... well thats just about the entire city though.

I'm seriously thinking an SL8 but I wanted something using AR mags and I dont know much about the conversion kits for it... so I'm thinking SU-16 since ill probably have to order whatever 223 i eventually decide on.

Personally, the only one I would not recommended would be the Travor - for the price, it lags in the accuracy department compared to the others. Each rifle mentioned above has it's strengths and weaknesses, it's up to your to determine what the best fit might be based on your specific needs, requirements and price.

I would tend to agree, but there's also the NR version of FN FS2000 in the same bullpup class.
