If an Ar180B was modified with a heavy match barrel, bipod, and high-powered riflescope (and possibly re-barreled to 6mm and load necked-up .223 casings), and any other accurizing mods that you can think of, what would you expect accuracy wise at extended ranges? I think it would be cool to have a non-restricted AR varmint gun, but would it be possible to get it accurate enough to pick off prairie dogs at 250+ yrds., or would this be a waste of time and money? Anyone tried it yet?

waste of time any money.

The AR180B is based of the AR18 rifle design. This design was intended from the get go to be a military rifle. It is therefore made with fairly loose tolerances in the bolt and carry. Most semi-auto military rifles do not lend themselves to being accurized.

Save yoursefl the money and use a bolt action. If you must have the black rifle look, get a Swiss Arms.

So just how accurate are 180's out of the box? MOA? Just curious. I might discover I need one. :D I like AR's, but no way I'm buying a rifle that I can't take out inna bush. That's stoopid IMO. Think a 180 would make a way better SHTF gun than my present Mini too. Although it does sorta group like S hittin' a fan. Hmmmm......;)

Out of the box, the manual says that the 180B has a 1.5 MOA. That's quite accurate. I consistently get 1.5" groups at 100 yards at the range with my factory barrel. For my purposes, that's quite acceptable for an assault rifle. MY purposes bing zombies, of course!:D

10-4 on the zombies. Mini will do it, no pickin' em off at 300 yds though. Gotta wait 'till ya see the whites (reds?) of their eyes.;)
