Well I just bought a Win 9422 from my father, I was the original owner and have regretted trading it to him for almost 10 years... now it is mine again and in immaculate condition.
( I just couldn't let him sell it to a stranger for his asking price of $350)
Anyway, I have it sighted in for about 20 yds for hunting and plinking, it has an inexpensive Simmons scope on it, actually not a bad scope, 3-9X32. I have yet to try it at various ranges but it should be good for 10-70 yds within an inch.
Back to the accurizing question... I noticed I can put a full magazine into a group where all the holes are touching but they are stringing in a horizontal line from left to right. So the first shot is dead center the second is about a half a .22 bullet (.11 of an inch I guess) to the right and so on. Very accurate for hunting purposes. But if I am being anal., can I tighten that group?
I have accurized a Win 94 30-30 AE. I was quite impressed with myself getting 1.5" groups at 100, wish I had never sold it. It accomplished this by sanding and grinding slightly in the fore stock, bbl bands and the mag screw (no mag screw on the 9422)
