Hey fellas,
Whats the deal with the Savage accutrigger? Is it special or just a gimmick? Should a person specifically be looking for a varmint rig with this feature or what? Anybody have experience...good or bad or otherwise.

Thanx

I love mine, i have it on a 22-250, it allows the trigger to have an extremely light pull, yet remain safe from accidental firing. A great invention in my mind, the lawyers must hate it.

I picked up a Savage recently , first time , I really liked it . Didn't shoot it mind you . Personally I liked the the "accutrigger " , reminded me of my Glock .
The adjustability is a nice feature and it's kind of like a two stage trigger , something I prefer .
I think ones in my future , can't wait for spring .

I have one on my 12 FV 223. It is by far the best feeling trigger I have ever used and I like the fact it can be adjusted without a gunsmith being involved.

They're the cat's ass. Lawyer-proof trigger adjustment (hell, they give you the tool) and the're so crisp as to defy belief. All this while being essentially impossible to have an AD with.

I bought one this fall, and am haveing problems with mine. It won't adjust under 6.5 pounds. Other than that the accuracy is fine. Told the store that I bought it from about the problem and he told me that I would have better luck contacting Savage myself about the problem. I've emailed them 3 times and no response. bearhunter

Good info guys, I'm in the market for a Savage in 22/250 for varmint shooting. Any advice on the best model to buy and any tips on what needs to be done to improve it?

Mine is a 12fvss, in 22-250. It is not light, if you want a lighter version, go with the 16fcss, which comes either with a hinged floorplate or a clip. The disadvantage is a thinner barrel,

Weight is not a consideration. I prefer a heavy barrel also stainless. I have no experience of Savage Rifles at all. What type of rings and bases fit them and just how accurate are they "out of the box"? Another quastion, who has the best pricing on them in Canada?

It's NO gimmick!!! I have two savage 12fv rifles and that trigger sure is sweet... If your in doubt, just try one at the store or range...

Cheers
Jay
