Alright boys and girls, I need your help. I bought a rifle off a fellow CGNer and the deal went great. Upon arrival however, it turns out there is a spring missing from the safety leaving it free to flop between its three positions. Obviously this is a bad situation as I like the rifle and don't want to demand my money back and kibitz over who pays the return shipping and the whole hassle. If you look at minute 3:30 or so of this video https://youtu.be/VxC6V9482tI you will see the missing part. I cannot for the life of me find an online source. I will be in touch with Savage in the am (rifle arrived Friday) to see what they say.

Anybody have this spring laying around in a parts bin somewhere?

Savage repair centre WILL NOT sell any trigger parts to the general public. They will want you to send the entire rifle to them so they can install the spring and then test it for proper function. So in the end the $5.00 spring will end up costing you $200.00
 
I am expecting something like this to be the scenario. I was just on hold with them for 45 minutes before giving up as I have to get back to my life. I’ll try them again tomorrow.
