Hey,

Does anyone on here or know of someone that has added VR to their training routine? Just wondering if it's worth it? Somewhat realistic? If anyone has experienced some vertigo and if it's passed after some time? Any criticisms? Thanks in advance.

A fellow I shoot with has one and I gave it a try. Was absolutely blown away. I’m getting one for the new year. Great tool especially with transition. Also the ability to get a frame for your specific gun is great. Visually it’s good. The feeling is fluid and seems almost natural. Truly wild. From a ipsc stand point. Great tool IMO

Thanks for the info

I bought the Ace and have about 30,000 rounds on it so far. I think it is good addition to training.
For practicing your draw(you can buy holsters from ace), grip, trigger control, transitions, swingers, bobbers (no max traps), best way to shoot stages, has all the steel challenge stages in it and more.
There is also a bunch of fun stuff shooting zombies, drones ect.
I have never had vertigo in the game. I am not a gamer and this is my first time with VR and have to say it is cool as f**k.
The only down side I have is I suck with a real gun and now I suck with a gun with no recoil.

So..buy the Quest 3, the 'gun' from ACE and I'm good to go right? Did you order the gun from ACE directly?

Bought the headset from Costco. I bought the 3s 128gb which works fine with the Ace.
If you think you might be into gaming on it I would buy the 3 512gb. The 3 has better lenses than the 3s.
I bought the handset from Ace. You have to buy your first handset from Ace. The trigger pack is patented and people can only sell the after market handsets without the trigger pack.
I only bought month subscription at first which worked out well because about 2 weeks in they sent me a 25% off coupon which ended up being $158 cad for a whole years subscription.
I didn't mention this before but I have let three people try the Ace and all three have bought one.

So if I understand this right..I buy a handset from ACE, then after I can use the trigger pack from that handset for another handset whether I buy from ACE or somewhere else? When you say 'handset' do you mean the different 'gun' frames available?

This is interesting.

I'll have to look into what Ace VR is. I've tried plenty of shooting games with PSVR 1 and some on Quest 3. There's a clay shooting game on Quest 3 I like. But all of them that I've played, I've not used any handsets to give it the proper feel.

There are a couple of places that make after market handsets, this is one of them https ://www.71create.com/store/vr-shooting
They don't have a rifle in the game yet so if you use one it will look like a handgun in the game. Hopefully in the future. This guy also sells different pistols

I know a couple of very good competitive shooters who swear by this system, I will be investing in one without a doubt. Was looking for something that the wife would actually use for Xmas and this is exactly it. Just had a Quick Look around and it seems that there are a lot of aftermarket handsets being made for this system now, nice to know I can find an M&P handset for her

I have one and love it.
Worth every penny. Only downfall is they need to get more brands on board making their own pistols for this system. So unless you are a glock, sig or 1911 guy Youll need to use that style.
But regardless it’s a great game/trainer

Thanks for this info..I was going to start searching for after market sources for the handset after I buy the first one with ACE. Do you know if they're canadian? And what's the other company you know of?

This is another place https ://customtacticaldesigns.com/collections/all
I don't think any of them are Canadian. You might try a search to see if anyone has put the files out to 3d print handsets. I don't know how good the files would be, spec wise, you would have to do your research.

ACE VR is very cool. Like most dryfire, if you treat it honestly and appropriately, it can be a useful training tool. Mostly what I see value in is stuff you can already do with a room and dryfire targets though. I had a conversation with Mason at worlds about it and our consensus is that it's a fun video game and nothing more.

In my whole IPSC career I've spent $50 on dryfire, the Go Fast Don't Suck IPSC mega pack. Best money I ever spent. You can get to where I am with nothing more than that. I personally won't spend the money on ACE VR based on real-world training value. If you find it super fun and see the entertainment value in that, go for it!
