Acog

What is an LED Acog? Assuming you mean one with fiber optics?

Either way - best place is the EE on here, or The Shooting Centre carries Trijicon... I think they have close to (if not the) best pricing..

Haha no problem.. I thought for a sec maybe there was some new model out. :)

What model specifically are you looking for, and what will you be using it for?

I've tried almost all of them, and I keep coming back to the TA33 series. Excellent eye relief, and just enough magnification. Much smaller and lighter than the TA31/TA11 series. FOV is MUCH smaller though, but since you have so much eye relief you can mount it much further forward. I find you can make it so the body of the scope almost disappears, and it's like looking through a 3x red dot.

Prices have come down a LOT in the past few years... the EE is still your best bet if you want something 'common' like a TA31 with red chevron or 'donut of death' reticle. Amber/Green reticles are a bit harder to come by in the EE I find...

It's for my Noveske so I figured I'd go with a TA02

ACOG 4x32 LED Scope, Battery Illuminated
Crosshair .223 Ballistic Reticle w/ TA51 Mount
I'm bouncing back and forth between this and a nightforce.

So what can you tell me about ACOG are they a good choice ?

i think irunguns has the best prices on the acogs.
ive used a 4x with reflex sight on it..really nice. lots of guys at the range loved the clarity it had.

Acog's are fairly light optics (even the ta11) and are 30 -35mm objective.
TA33 series, 7oz
TA31 series, 10oz
TA11 series, 14oz

To compare with conventional scopes 20-24mm objective.

Leupold 1.25-4X20mm, 11.5oz
Nightforce 1-4X24mm, 17oz

Those numbers aren't right.... the TA33 is much lighter than the TA31 if you include the mount with the 31 (which the website does NOT). :)

Either way - they are very light weight compared to a lot of other options. Like the Elcan SpecterDR... 22.3oz!!! Like 1.4 POUNDS!

Ah yes the 33 was listed with its mount at 11.5oz, my bad. Its mount is listed at 4.7oz so optic alone should be a hair under 7oz.
