Hi folk I acquired this rifle recently and although it seems like a good hunting rifke for the kids in thinking about passing it along. Problem is I've never seen one for sale to judge price. googling says the 307 is 308 built for lever action.

307 Winchester xtr 94ae pre cross bolt safety? Bushnell 1.5-4 optic. Nice shape, figured wood. Has 8 shots fired and I have 92 rounds left boxes say 46$ a box if that's accurate. If anyone has an idea on value id likely be putting up for sale soon.

Thanks

There is one (almost identical to yours and in very nice shape) listed on the Firearms Canada website.

Seller want's $850 - it's been there for a number of weeks, so at least nobody that frequents that site thinks it's deal - or doesn't want one "enough" to pay the asking price.

.307, never heard of it. A web site called balisticstudies says that is the only production rifle chambered in .307. Probably a hard sell, but who ever wants it would really want it. I dont think you'd be to crazy listing it for around 1k$ with the ammo. A rarebird for sure.

BUT, Some things are just worth more to have then what you will get for it.

have the same rifle, ammo is not easily obtained, buy when it comes up at shows, I paid 400 for it 5 years ago, its still a 400 dollar rifle to someone who wants one doubt its worth much more

I would try $650 for the gun, it's been well used. The rear sight is broken and beat on, the front sight is different than my .307 and any of my big bores (ramp with hood). Your front sight is the same as my 7x30 Waters rifle with 24in barrel, while my 7x30 carbine is a ramp/hood. There's some figure in the stock but also a few marks. Keep it! Pretty awesome compared to the 30-30!

Awesome thanks guy and gals, didn't know much of anything about this rifle besides the fellow who owned was my uncle, it's been hunted with so it does have marks, funny that someone can judge the amount of round fired by looking at the loading gate as it likely has had rounds loaded and unloaded unfired being a hunting gun and all.

Cheers

It has been alluded to already but to clarify...

The rifle's action is the known as the '94 Big Bore. It is beefed up to handle higher pressure rounds. They were chambered in .307Win, .356 Win, and .375Win. The .307 win is a rimmed .308 Win. Yes it definitely trumps the 30-30. The .356 was a rimmed version of the .358 Win. The bullets used are .308 and .358 respectively. My brother in law has a two 94 big bores, one in 356 Win and one in 375 Win. I have a couple reloading manuals that list the .307 so if you save your brass and reload you're set to keep shooting for years.(for a lot less $).

As far as value goes, why not test the waters and list it at what you want for it. If it doesn't sell for what you want, keep it knowing your 94 really is something special.
