My first handgun will be a browning nomad that was my grandpas. I just received my restricted license in january and have been working to get all the information for transfer. My question is, in Ontario how long does it take to get a STATT so that I can go pick it up. They just did all the background checks in january, so would they need to go through that again? The family is looking to close the estate, so I hope this is soon.

Thanks guys

Yeah, if you have all the other pieces of the puzzle just call them and they will give you the short term ATT right away. If there's anything missing they won't.

Ok thanks, I was told all I needed was his RPAL and registration number, but I have the model and serial number as well.

I wish this thing were around the corner from me.

The ATT for pickup will be issued as soon as the transfer is complete. The sooner you start the transfer process, the sooner it will be completed. Getting the ATT is the easy part.

Thanks, not my decision on how long this will take, I had my license in January, so it should have started then.

If getting the ATT is the easy part was going through the licensing process the hard part or am I just starting the hard part by wanting to have restricted in Canada?

Thanks

getting the RPal is the longest and hardest part. everything after that is gravy. restricted transfers can sometimes take a while (7 days or more). once you put it in you can call back
in 5 days and see if it is processed yet, sometimes they don't call back to say it's been completed.
