ACR 10.5" Barrels Now Shipping. Short is ###y!

After a bit of a wait the ACR 10.5" barrels are now shipping from Reliable Gun. I just received mine today and "Wow!" what a difference it makes to the overall handiness of the ACR package! Even though I only had the Restricted 16" barrel installed before, the reduction in length and weight is still significant. Plus, we can't discount the ###y look of the shorter tube. Mated with the RPM Precision MLOK Handguard, the 10.5" barrel is a perfect fit.

And is it a stuck on rubber pad on the cheek rest?

Are you able to reach the gas selector with the handguard on still??

The grip sleeve is a Hogue. The padded cover on the cheek riser is 1/8" self-adhesive neoprene that you can buy cheap from eBay by the yard/metre and just cut to shape. I use it wherever possible on buttstocks as it is warm against the skin on cold days and is generally more comfortable.

The handguard is the standard length offered by Ramy. Unfortunately, the price you pay for the clean lòok up front is that the gas regulator is more difficult to access. Not a problem, since we're not running cans. My ACR has never faltered on the Unsuppressed gas setting, so I don't see the lack of access to be a show-stopper. YMMV, but the short vanguard looks gòod with the short barrel as well. There are pics of that set-up in other discussion threads.

Why would you need to reach the gas regulator other than during disassembly for cleaning?
