I have myself an ACR stock on an XCR I am thinking about modifying.

I was thinking of a QD socket install (see pics) on the bottom side. I just don't care for the options the ACR unit has over the FAST stock.

It would be a GrovTec QD socket. I'll need to drill, tap, and epoxy it in place but I'm not sure about the strength of that area (I don't feel like replacing a stock...) After installation the two holes would be filled with epoxy just for extra piece of mind (3rd pic)

So I'm wondering if anybody has any experience or input? Before I try destroying this haha.

I'm not 100% sure if the drill & tap method would be the best, as that area under your sling mount is hollowed out. I suppose you can fill the area with epoxy and that would help hold it securely, but I think something like this may work better:

CTCS had them in-stock before; they're out right now, so I don't know if/when they will bring them in (I think IRG has them on their US site as well)

You drill a half inch hole where you want the sling mount, cut the center rib out with a dremel tool, then install the QD point and the big steel Tee nut inside, and flood the cavity with Epoxy. Would be absolutely rock solid.

I have 2 of these I installed in my Benelli M4's strait stock, and they work very well. You just have to make sure not to over-tighten them too much, or the little flange on the outside can crack!
