ACR diet plan.

My ACR went on a diet plan, now I need to go on a diet plan!

This Rambones guy is turning into a cult secret

Nothing wrong with trimming a little fat off of a rifle or one's self.

Its like Fight Club. We cant talk about it.

Or perhaps "like fight club", it's all in your head?;)

It will be interesting to hear how the accuracy is after the fluting, so please keep us posted.

Cheers D

so i am trying to connect the dots here, rambones=rpm tool? Or am i out to freaking lunch and need to take a taxi back?

Ive been reading alot on the effects in different threads on Snipers hide and ar15.com and I decided to use straight fluting, but only after he turns it down to a pencil barrel profile first :)

I also figured if my Bartlein barrel on my Cadex is straight fluted it should be good enough for my ACR.

I talked to ATRS a while ago about having a barrel fluted and Rick refused to do it to a used barrel, something about a used barrel hardening and becoming brittle with use which would require stress relieving after being fluted or something like that. I can't remember the exact details but I would do a little more research before profiling and fluting a used barrel. While any machinist can do the work not all may know the effects it may have on a rifle barrel.
Also, as I said earlier, my pencil barrel from Herron shot pretty poorly so I'd be careful how light of a profile you have it cut down.

I have abandoned the idea for the trunnion , and turning my barrel. Im focusing on paying off my APC556 :)

Might revisit this idear down the road, But after seeing the accuracy results of the APC, I dont think its worth throwing any more money at the ACR.

#### me and here I was thinking about ordering up an ACR to match my Apc.

Maybe I'll just hold off on the ACR and order the restricted Apc to tide me over till the N/R APC gets here

I cant wait to compare both, But so far the groups posted by Wolverine dont inspire me to keep the ACR...lol...

If I can muster enough side jobs to pay of the APC by Jan i'll keep the ACR., My son wants it anyways, my daughter allready claimed the Cz858 and the wife stole my Tavor.

Im glad the entire family took up shooting. Makes for fun weekends in the bush.

Well right now its

Tavor
Cz858
ACR

For my top 3 in that order, Until I handle that APC I cant tell, and the Type 81 will be thrown in the mix as well. But its cheap chinese junk so im pretty sure it will go straight to 5th place.

The ACR is currently last due to weight and chitty balance.

Good to know. Maybe I'll just wait and hold off from ordering it then
