I didn't see much in the ACR sticky so I thought I would start a thread. How many people have these now and what do you think of them, especially accuracy wise?

I would really like a non restricted semi auto .223 that can use AR parts and magazines that holds MOAish accuracy for Precision Rifle Gas Gun matches and coyote hunting. My Tavor and XCR-M were not even close.

Also does a Magpul MOE Hans guard work on these? I like the look of them better than the short railed handguard.

I'm also interested in reports on this rifle as well - especially how it balances with the PRS stock and the side folder for those that have run both configurations.

I haven't shot one of the DMR models yet but I've handled a couple.
They are not as heavy as I thought they would be. Heavier than my converted to NR ACR but still not as heavy as I was expecting.
The MOE hand guard from the regular ACR should fit, mounting looks identical. Not sure why they sent them out with the silly quad rail forend.
The couple range reports so far have been promising, the restricted version shoots very well so there is no reason these wouldn't be as good or slightly better.

For what you describe your intended use would be I would shop for a converted rifle with a Herron Arms or Questar barrel. They will be cheaper, you will save some weight, won't have to try to find or order the non railed forend (expensive), and either of those barrels should be as accurate or more accurate than the factory barrel. The money saved will pay for a trigger upgrade if you want or buy some ammo.

Just remember that accuracy depends a lot on ammo, don't expect MOAish if you plan to run Norinco through it. If you run garbage ammo you will be disappointed.

Roddy, P&D and Phoenix both had one in stock last time I was there in case you want to get your hands on one before deciding.

PM me if you want to shoot mine before you purchase one, I live a little over an hour north of Leduc and we can shoot on my land.

Oh thanks for the offer cr5. I didn't see them on P&D's website anymore so I thought they might have sold out. The stock folds on the DMR as well, correct?

I'm not planning on buying one right away but I was curious about how they were doing in the accuracy department. I may handload or just buy match ammo if I get one.

From my understanding, there are some clearance issues on the DMR with the MOE handguard, but I believe I read those could be resolved with some filing/dremel work.

The DMR stock does not fold.

The clearance issues I think are with the heat shield. The long 'PTS Masada' version fits without changes, and it doesn't have a heat shield.

My DMR looks to be pretty accurate. Around 1 MOA with handloads so far. Cheap American eagle is about 2 MOA.

There is one at RDSC as well. A bit muzzle heavy but not bad. Seems well made but I'm not paying $3000+ for one.

I have close to $4k into mine including my conversions (home built not factory) and I don't regret spending the money at all. Still the best non restricted semi available to us currently in my opinion. If I was just going to stick to 223 I would have a hard time deciding between the ACR and the Modern Varmint but so far my ACR has reliably shot every type and weight of ammo I've tried and it's very accurate.
$3000 isn't really that much when you compare it to an XCR or Tavor at similar prices. Just as reliable and well made as a Tavor and way more accurate.
I don't think I would buy the DMR though, for that much money you could buy a fairly new restricted version, convert it with a quality barrel and add a Geissele trigger and be pretty close in price and still come in lighter.

Yes that's right, it looks like they used a locking system from an ACR, installed it on the DMR. Need to dremel the radius part that's touching the barrel on the locking system so that the handle will go up more to clear.
Need to do this to get my RPM hand guard

I just hate that DMR stock. Looks ugly and is heavy
Retailers say you can swap it out for the orginial ACR stock, but it's already like $3400 for the rifle minus the cost of the folding stock

Mine is arriving on the 27th. I plan to take her to the range that same week. I'll be loading 3 or 4 different loads at minimum. So I should be able to give a decent review in a couple weeks.
