ACR Media and Info Thread

took mine to the range today, the more I shoot it the more I love this gun.
It is a bit capricious with mags tho, I was shoothing with a 5/10 AA 50BW and a 10 Lar15 and both had hiccups;
the AA seemed to cause enough friction on the bolt to get stuck out of battery on the first rounds a couple times, I can see wear marks on the mag.
the LAR didn't drop free on empty: the bolt hangs on the mag body and slams forward when you rip the mag out. I had the same problem with 5/20 M3 PMAG.
never had a single issue with 5/30 M2 PMAG tho, so I guess I'll stick to those. anybody else experienced this with theirs?

So tried my acr and all mags run well, pmags, lar mags, atrs mags, and metal 5/10 aa beowulf mags.
all types of 223 ammo are fine, runs well.

My problem is when I am running xm855 556, i get stovepipes jams every 5 rounds or so.

I have the S/U regulator.

Its not really a big deal since I can just run 223 ammo in it, a few guys on the acrforum ran into the same problem, got the h/l regulator from bushmaster and are running their 556 on H to solve this issue.

I was wondering if any of you ran into this problem?

Mine runs everything I feed it and feeds from every mag I own. I have 3 LAR mags, an AA 5/30 (holds 5.8 50BW which translates into 16 223), around 20 GI style metal 5/30, around 20 5/30Pmags, 2 HERA 5/30 polymer and a few Cproducts 5/20 mags and all feed perfectly and the bolt locks back on last round.
The only time I've had any issues at all with mine was when I was doing 208gr projectile subsonic load development and I kept reducing powder charge until it wouldn't cycle any more. That has nothing to do with the rifle though.
I have the S/U regulator and I've never tried it on anything other than the U setting.

wait, what? You mean that you run the rifle always on the S setting? Isn't the S setting for running the rifle when suppressed?

'S' is for suppressed. Smaller gas port I believe. I've never run anything other than 'U' setting (3 different ACRs) and never had a SINGLE jam/loading issue with any type of ammo. Including XM855.

I think it's actually a larger gas port to bleed off the excess pressure caused by a suppressor. I was thinking of filling it with epoxy or JBweld and then drilling it out starting small and working up to get my subsonic 300BLK loads to cycle nicely but I found that using the right powder is much easier.
Mine cycles all 223 and all my 300BLK loads without issues so I'll just leave it on U and not worry about it. :)

Another quick question, I have a nice atlas bipod that has a picantiny rail mount on it, how would I put it on my acr, I have the regular handguard?

Talked to DLASK, their ACR barrel is (which is the barrel I have on my ACR):
Length: 18.5
Rate of twist: 1 in 8
Chamber: 5.56
Blank: Green mountain

I'll be test firing it this Friday to see what groups I get.

Have you posted a pic of your new toy yet?
