ACR Media and Info Thread

Shape of the curve/spline over the grip is different, there's a gas tube, negating it being a ACR, and there's a missing section of rail as well. I thought the same, but those things lead me to believe it's not an ACR.

Maybe I'm not seeing straight but it appears to be a 308 based platform. Look at the magwell size and magazine.

Looks like it still has a folding hinge.
Wonder if they made some weird DI version that doesn't use a buffer tube?
Would like to know more about that one, interesting.

I like those stocks as well, would look nice color matched to my tan ACR.

Hey guys,

Two questions. I remember there was a post about making your ACR NR to R and vice versa where is it? Second question where did all the folding stocks go? I can't find any of them anymore.

New to the acr game. I was looking at the acr dmr and the friggen thing is 10.5 pounds, retarded tbh. I was wondering how much weight you could shave off by removing that god ugly stock and handguard. Put on the classic folding stock and maybe a midwest rail or the RPM one.

There is a NR acr on the EE with a stainless silver barrel. Looks like an arms east conversion. Seller is claiming its stock. Is that possible? I thought all the stock barrels were black.

Swapping to a folding enhanced stock would save you about 1-1.5 lbs, a fixed basic even more so but realize that you are taking weight away from where you want it to help balance, so the folder is a fair compromise. Swapping to either the basic polymer or an RPM rail will certainly do alot to change balance and handling, but will only shave maybe 0.5 lbs off the total weight.

Bushmaster has only ever made one OEM NR barrel, it the DMR Heavy barrel and I have never seen one with a silver finish. It is almost surely either AEI or Questar.

Latest Setup for my DMR ACR

We recently did a side by side speed test with 10 round mags between an ACR DMR and a Robinson Arms XCR 3 gun model.

Basically we stood about 15 yards from a steel plate about the size of a mans upper body and tried to hold on target while pulling the trigger as fast as we could.

The difference between them was astounding.

Every shot from the ACR easily hit the steel target whereas less than half the rounds from the XCR hit steel.

We repeated the test with and without a tight sling and the results were always the same.

Slow fire accuracy at 100 yards was similar with a slight edge to the ACR DMR.

But shooting fast, the ACR is far more controllable.

I would like to try this test again some time comparing the ACR to an AR.

KRG, kinetic research group. They also make a couple stocks. Go Big Tactical is their Canadian dealer.

I like the looks of their products but when I saw $1000+ for that nice stock they make I almost choked and decided they can keep their stuff. Looks really good but way too much money to spend on something that's 90% asthetic.

That's an interesting test you did, I think you're simply experiencing what a little heavier rifle does. The more it weighs the less recoil you feel and the less the gun moves with each shot. The ACR is a very smooth shooting rifle, but you pay for it in weight.

Be careful shooting steel that close, I've had bullets come back before, hopefully your steel is angled properly so that doesn't happen.

Quality has a cost unfortunately. With that said, I don’t think their stock offers anything over the factory option so that item isn’t for me, but the forend is sweet.

I'm sure this has been discussed but if I bring my non restricted acr to the range am I allowed to put on my 10.5 barrel and shoot and then put non restricted barrel back on and go home ?

I don't run ACR and have not not really followed ACR for awhile, so some info could be old news.

I ran into someone who works at Remington USA the other day. There were some interesting tidbits about the ACR.

First of all, 300 blk is coming out.

ACR pistol with arm brace is coming out.

They want to have a 300 blk ACR, but some people inside Rem wanted to have a 450 bushmaster ACR first and that ended up taking up all the time.

Remington Defense ACR - Never.

M-lok handguard.

Light weight barrel nut exists.

Remington moved ACR production lines 6 times - that is why accessories and new models of ACR had been so slow in getting out.
