Also, in trying to save weight, I have removed the 2 QD sling mounts just behind handguard. They were held in with a screw on each side of the receiver. Does anyone know if there is a specific torque value that I should use when putting these screws back in?

they have 16inch barrels, we have the 18inch, plus usually they are a heavy profile.
 
I love the way the ACR shoots and looks but man am I ever disappointed with the platforms support. Little in the way of after market upgrades and the "multicaliber" facet of the brand is pretty weak. Been waiting a while to get an 7.62x39 barrel and 300blk. $1400 if I want a gun smith to come up with a bottom end set up.

That would be awesome, but they are not setup as firearms manufacturers. Would need to partner with someone other than Remington.
Best case is that Remington, which still exists would just release a semi version of their LEO/Mil ACR.

edit nevermind sorry, i saw quantity and i thought that was in stock not amount to order. could still try contacting them. they delt in OME ACR parts and may know where to find some.
 
I seen a dude on FaceBook who appears to be an ACR aficionado and trying to keep the dream alive.

It's too bad ACRs never caught on with the military. I've read they had some use in Afghanistan but I never seen pictures of them in use or more concrete evidence.
 
The lack of ACR support is a real downer, especially now with the brand officially dead in the water. Shades of the Robarm M96 Expeditionary Rifle, although many more ACRs were built and sold and the ACR is quite frankly, a far, far better/more mature platform. Still, without spares support they will eventually wear out and end up on the scrap-heap. Aftermarket support is essentially dead aside from Templar Precision State-side.

Hopefully Magpul will continue to produce the ACR Buttstock, as this has become a key component for upgrading several other fixed-LOP systems such as the ERE Famaes, the Swissarms, and the B+T APC family. A buddy of mine is in dire need of a Buttstock for his NR APC556 "DMR"....
