Arms east price seems decent. Any one have experence with the quality / accuracy of these ? I'm hoping to make a gun suitable for gas gun prs and doggy hunting of course.

Can the DMR use the Magpul forend and the folding stock from the original ACR?

Very curious about this as well. For the exact same two reasons!

Gas gun prs ?
You're going to want to go with a bartlein or Krieger through Herron then. His seem to be the most accurate by a good margin.

Good day. I've recently acquired a restricted ACR and want to do a non conversion in 5.56 . I have access to a qualified smith and a verifier all ready. Where can I source a barrel. ? Thanks.

Find a barrel blank and have your qualified smith build you a barrel for an AR with a midlength gas port, you will need a gas port slightly smaller than what an AR of the same length would have, then make a notch for the op rod guide, swap over your restricted barrel gas system, notch it for the taper pins that hold the gas block and you're done.
I had my qualifier smith do the same thing for my 300BLK conversion but I made it with a carbine length gas system, no op rod guide and shortened an op rod to work with it. Had my barrel maker start with a small gas port and I did some testing and then opened it up slightly to get it cycling perfectly.

Good luck

if you want that level of accuracy to group sub moa, you need to look at herron for barrels.
just buy a restricted acr, send it to herro for a bartlein or krieger barrel and reclassification to NR

I have the NR from Arms East with the stainless barrel. A fellow CGN buddy and I shot it out to 400yds on a 12" gong no issue at all. Right out of the box could maintain consecutive hits on it using cheap / crappy American Eagle black box "Tactical" fmj ammo. Intrigued to see what it can do with a good load worked up for it.

Thank you everyone for the info about the handguard. I like the look of the plastoc one a lot better. The handguard wouldn't be a deal breaker but accuracy would. Looking forward to seeing tests of handloads.

I should add that I think that for that amount of money and with a name like DMR it should be pretty accurate!

I'll try to get some more load testing done on my Questar barrel and bring it with me when we get together for some coyote hunting so you can try it out

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to share a few pictures of my newly acquired NR ACR.

The barrel was done by Herron Arms and is a Krieger 1/9" Twist. The Optics are an EOTech XPS 2-0 and G23 FTS Magnifyer. Also has the Geissele Super ACR Trigger.

Let me know what you think!

Very slick. What is that fore grip? I've never seen one like that.
