Does anyone actually sell acr parts in Canada ?
Picked up an acr recently and am looking to make a few barrel assemblies up.
I know gravel is the distributor, but can I actually order parts through a retailer ? Or does gravel do direct sales on parts ?

Regards,
Nathan

I'd like to know as well, I can't even find ACR parts in their catalog.
I'd like a high quality barrel and all the parts for the gas system. If I can buy a barrel that will shoot as well as my HK I'll be selling the HK and buying a couple more calibers for the ACR.
I want a non restricted 223, 300 Blackout, and maybe a 450 Bushmaster setup.

You can go through a retailer (like One Shot Tac) or through Gravel directly. I have orderd ACR parts from them with decent results. It did take a bit of time, as the person I was dealing with left the company and I didn't know until I got impatient and called them.

If you want to build some barrel assemblies, head over to ACRforums and check out their parts list thread. When ordering it will be a lot easier to just list off part numbers vs. descriptions. Also, the thread specifies which parts are needed for a barrell assembly. Be prepared to wait, because Gravel may not have all the required parts currently in stock, and Bushmaster is notoriously slow.

I contemplated building multiple barrels, but ended up just ordering a bunch of spare parts and then having Ian at Herron Arms use my existing barrel assy. to make me a 12.5" tube.

Let us know what you're after. We deal with Gravel quite a bit.

Here you go !

Any idea on the prices for these parts?

i think the guide blocks, have went down in price

So are there different gas system lengths on the ACR?
I see the Op Rod is listed as mid-length.
Are there optional gas regulators that have settings other than Unsuppressed or Suppressed? Hoping to get one with a useful second setting.
I watched a video on youtube where a guy was showing off his 3 different barrels and the gas system looked the same between his 10 inch and 16 inch. His other barrel was 7.62x39. I think he lived in the US. He had 7000 rounds through his with very little cleaning and had broken 1 firing pin. Was talking about a recall and a new titanium pin.

I get mine today :D

550$ without a barrel... Ouch

Guess I will scavenge my 16.5 for the parts first. But switching barrels is one of the coolest feature of the ACR so I guess I should start saving

For anything shorter than 12.5" you need to cut down the piston and have a custom mout of some sort made. Everything longer than that you just need to adjust the gas port size. As long as the gas port is the correct size for the barrel length, there really isn't a need for another gas setting besides suppressed and un-suppressed. The stock 16" cycles basically any ammo, and from what I have heard the 12.5" and 10.5" barrels do as well, as long as they are put together properly. I don't personally have the need for multiple gas setting (like the XCR), but some people might.

Yup. If Bushmaster ever makes a 10.5" barrel assembly and a 18.6" barrel assembly, the XCR market in Canada will dry up. But it's bushmaster, so that won't happen for years, if ever.

Yeah I gave up waiting for the factory NR and picked up a enhenced from the EE...
I really wished the NR limit was 16.5 tho, it would make things much easier and would make more sense.
dont want to derail the thread here but what is the legality of switching a 18.5 to a 12.5 if it is left on only at the range? I know the 30 days to re-register as restricted thing but what if the switch is temporary and is only done at the range? Guess I could call it in every 30days and keep them busy lol

Probably doesn't need it but it would be nice to have the second setting be just a little useful. My Swiss Arms (sold it) had two settings, first setting was for all ammo and the second setting was for if your rifle was dirty and would give it extra gas. I never used position 2 but it at least had a function we could relate to needing some day here in Canada where we can't have a suppressor.

I also like to be able to tune the gas system a little if it's available to give the rifle as little gas as possible while still being reliable which is easier on the rifle and makes it smoother shooting.

Either way, I'm sure I will like it and at least this way we never need to mess with it.

Does the S position cut off all gas or just reduce it to virtually nothing? We could re-name it Single instead of Suppressed ;)

Why would the XCR market dry up? People will still like those rifles even if they aren't as good as an ACR ;)
Bushmaster has said that as long as there isn't another frenzy down South they should be getting caught up on current orders and starting the 18.5 inch production in 2014. There probably won't be much demand for it in the US so we may see them late summer or some time in the fall.
I couldn't wait any longer so bought one with a 12.5 and plan to have a couple NR length put together.

I'm not entirely sure about the legality of it but I doubt you would have problems. Best place to find out would be to call the CFC or your local CFO.
Let us know what they say because I have the same plans with mine. I want my 12.5 inch for the range and an 18.5 for away from the range.
I have to call them today so if I remember I'll ask and post what they say.

Latest prices weren't that high on the parts, apparently they've dropped some.
Some guys drill the gas block for a set screw to adjust gas, mainly when using ar barrels as the gas hole is a bit large, especially with shorter barrelled configurations.

Farmboy, please let us know here on prices and availability.
I'd contact you directly, but I think there's quite a few others looking for these parts with the recent introduction of dlask's acr barrels.
