ACR/ XCR-L/ MV . Which one would you get?

XCR-L $2610. ACR $2860. MV $????. Which would you get? Just curious as to what you all think about these 3 rifles. I know the ACR and XCR-L has been beaten to death but let's throw the MV in the mix.I had a XCR-L, it was OK, now I'm looking for another , but not sure what. The MV may be the one but price isn't available yet. So for all the people who are looking at purchasing one of these NR rifles, what's your thoughts. I'm leaning toward the MV because of weight savings , hopefully accuracy and of course the look:).

Yes my xcr got lighter when the light barrel and keymod came out... But still 2 MOA.

ACR diddnt do it for me (although sub MOA), too heavy/bulky and too cheap-feeling/wobbly.

MV should be juuuuuuust right ;)
 
Currently for me it is the ACR, The MV could be nice but it is currently an unknown and likely not going to be offered in the calibers I would like.

I like the Sig MCX for it's caliber change ability, but it is sadly restricted
 
it make me laugh when people say to take a mv which haven't been yet on the market have 0 pic of it and it no yet tested when many people report having minor problem with their mh and difficulty to get a constant accuracy , the acr does come in a nr format from factory so you have to pay the extra to get it nr , scr-l already come nr ,

i do own a xcr-l in 7.62 and i got nothing to say against it , it the rifle i take every trip to the crown land

not a huge price difference and can be bought new with the conversion already done from Arms east

I have an ACR in 7.62x39 and other calibers not available for the XCR, It comes along for every hunting trip
 
For now, I'll keep my XCR. No reason to change as it does everything I ask of it.
I'm not a fan of the ACR, don't like the looks or feel. I've never fired one so my opinion is somewhat ignorant.
MV doesn't exist, so what can I say about it. I've handled the MH and quite like the look and feel, but again, never fired.

The XCR does it for me. Each of the 18,000 rounds through mine, has given me wood. :)

The ACR NR is listed on AE site, for the price I stated. But yes I would like to see some field tests of the MV. I'm not to worried about the accuracy as I'm sure you can develop a load for it. Reliability is the other concern.. But hey even the other two has there issues.
 
ACR is very close to becoming an orphan gun. Parts support from Bushmaster is very poor right now. Also for some reason, most of the NR conversions on EE are made with medium or heavy contour barrels which makes it heavier than a 20" swissarms.

I wouldn't buy an XCR based on the average accuracy it gives.

Assuming the MV comes out being accurate and reliable I would choose that. I'll wait to see how they do before purchasing though.
 
Nobody can answer the question with any amount of certainty yet, for obvious reasons.

I've handled and shot the XCR, wasn't overly impressed.
I've handled the ACR but not shot mine....yet ;) I have high expectations for accuracy with a Herron Arms barrel installed.
Nobody has handled the MV, but we can assume the guinea pigs will be in good hands with ATRS.

Factor in the different companies making these rifles, and the MV will be a home town favorite I think! :)
 
Impossible question to answer unless the MH substitutes in place of the MV. I really hope the MV comes $ wise around the same mark as other premium black rifles on the market. Any modern hunter I've seen available are coming in @ around 5kgive or take & thats before optic. The exact reason I didn't order one, I'm not prepared as a hobbyist to invest that kind of money (7.5k the way I see it by the time you give it an optic to do it justice) into a single platform. Seeing as this kind expenditure would equal roughly 60-75% of my entire hardware investment into the sport. So in short the MH wasn't for me. Great gun, got to shoot one @ my local range & they perform as advertised. Incredible. I just don't think I'm ATRS' target market per se in regards to the MH, more for competitive shooters, guys with more money or with less wife than I.

I am hoping with the Modern Varminter being %30 smaller than the MH in combination with having the possibility to use some more commonly available accessories that the sting of the price tag will be significantly less & more in line with the ACR/XCR/Tavor etc. Add to that the supposition that the MV will be far more popular thus more units being manufactured etc. That the economy of it will reduce its retail price. One can hope anyhow, I have no first hand knowledge of how these things work in the firearms manufacturing business.

With all that being said, I am ordering a MV. I am desperate. I think the whole AR restricted bu!!$h!t in this country is a travesty & directly borne of ignorance. I have always wanted to just.... Be free! Free to use my toys as I saw fit. The MV is obviously the best chance I'm going to get (if approved)for a good long while... Absent an act of Charleton Heston.... I have the optics, I have the bullets, now all I need is my Liberal overlords approval. Hopefully this goes like a case of surprise Liberal butt seks, we'll have gotten what we wanted before they even know what's happening... On that note my 2¢.
 
I'm soon gonna buy a new .223 , the XCR I had was nice and I had it shooting MOA with hand loads. My only complaint was the 11+ lbs and I wouldn't want the pencil barrel. I'm not to keen the ACR, only because it looks heavy and cumbersome. The MV looks like it has all the right parts. But price and function will be a factor.
 
My XCR never let me down, managed to squeak out a 4/5 sub-moa group for the challenge here as well FWIW. Your results may vary, however my experience was nothing like that of the naysayers who may not be the biggest fan of it.

Not sure why people do that, but itis ultimately up to owner to select the barrel profile wanted at time of conversion. I go for the lightest profile I can get my hands on in a reasonable amount of time.

Indeed Modern Hunters are pricey, but popular misconception has it that all MH's are 5k+. All MH start at $3.5k, and go up from thier pending options. Its the same as starting with a DPMS AR10, which starts at $1000, and goes up from there.
Add a CFW barrel? +$1000
Add a PRI CF handgaurd? +$500
Add a Magpul PRS and GRIP? +$350
Add ambi controls and a brake? +$200

Atrs just allows you to have them do the upgrades from factory so you don't have to unless you order a $3500 base unit and want to upgrade as you see fit.
