Action for 338 lapua mag project?

I heard 338 was 6 bucks a cartridge

120$ a box of 20 black hills match,
usualy around 1.50$ a reload averaging the price of lapua brass over 10 reloadings. more if you dont get to load the brass that many times.

Yeah, I bought Lapua stuff from a shop in Vancouver some years back. At the time it was the only factory stuff in Canada, Black Hills didn't even produce it back then. - dan

TRG-S is probably the best bang for the buck. It includes a clip feed system. The stock is probably the worst part.... but McMillan does make a replacement and accessories to make the clip work are also available through them...

338lm was not allowed at Connaught but I see from the "range standing orders" that they now do "with permission from range control".

In other words forget it unless you are one of the blessed.

IIRC there's a Sako 995 in 338 Lapua in the Exchange as we speak. Be a good way to start.

I know one of my compatriots whose CGN handle I can't remember is having one built on a BRNO 602 by He-Whose-Name-Shall-Not-Be-Spoken

The new Remington MLR in 338 lapua is a decent shooter and at an affordable price. I have mine being tweaked and dressed with rings rail and optics, hope to have a range report soon

Do you recall how Remington handled the bolt nose and extractor for the .338 cartridge?

I have not spent much time looking at it, having decided to have some upgrades done, like bedding, a Jewell trigger and a brake installed, but there is an extrnal type extractor, similar to a Sako and the recess in the bolt looks very this compared to a standard magnum boltface. I will try to post photos of it when I get it back from the gunsmith.
