Acute Primer Shortage.

According to the gal at Lowry's shooting sports in Caledonia, there is a primer shortage. She claims that LSS is the biggest retailer of Federal primers in Canada. But, they have none. No LPP or SPP. None till at least June.
This gal claims that primers are being snapped up and horded as the war is using most of the production.
Would hate to run out and many feel the same...

The war has little to nothing to do with the shortage. Most of the problem is simply guys like you and me and our brothers in the US buying cases instead of boxes. Everyone is in a panic over what Lord Obama may pull, and are hoarding ammo, guns, and all the components they can find.

Limited primers....

One of our local shops is limiting primers to 300 per customer right now due to shortages.

Luckily, I stocked up well before hand.....

The local g-store here is all out as well..... The owner tells me that he placed an order 4 months ago that is still not shipped.... He used to keep 50K of all primer sizes in stock, but lately he can't even find them to put on the shelf. It's almost the same for powder, he has some left but the order placed 4months ago also included powder.

I would have to say stocks are dwindeling....

I personally have enough LRP for the next 2 to 3 yrs..... but I am all out of SPP.... and I NEED some!!

If anyone knows where to find some (hopefully at a reasonable price) PM me with a name & a ph#.....

Well, I just hoarded 1000 from P&D. They had enough, and now I have enough and nobody else will have any.

Seriously though, I haven't seen anything resembling a shortage at any of the 3 edmonton stores I know sell them.

Hoarded a thousand?? Hoarding starts at 5000 IMO, once I find a primer I like I buy a case, maybe 2 depending how many firearms use that particular primer.

Thats exactly why I bought a few thousand the other day. Its amazing, these primers are like a commodity, probably rises faster than the price of any precious metal out there

Sitting on 6000 large, 6000 small pistol primer and about 10 pounds of Titegroup. I just bought another 5000 small and 2000 large pistol primer. May as well buy them while they're available.......

Lesson that should be learned here folks, is "hoarding" is much cheaper done well in advance of when everyone else is doing it.

18,000 Federal Small pistol primers downstairs... Should last about another year and a half, I think.

If you take a look at some of the online stores in the US you will see that they are SOLD OUT of almost EVERYTHING. A couple stores are 2 weeks behind just trying to ship orders.
