people on here say that ian hames is going through a tough time right now ,really!!!!! it seems to me not on sep,27,28 he was at the ^frosty farky^ shoot in kamloops ,if he needs money then he should have sold the kreiger barrel insted of donating it to the shoot ,he knows what he is doing and court is the only way to get anything back from him

Fact:No barrel was donated to the shoot. How do I know this? I was the match director and was actually at the shoot.

there was a couple barrels delivered to the purchasers at the v-bull match end of Oct
by the suspect himself though.

My mistake, he was at the shoot.....it was the V-Bulls match that he stopped by to deliver barrels. Got the 2 shoots mixed up.

Agreed! Let's keep it to the firsthand knowledge people. I do however wish to see posts like these continue, otherwise, individuals affected like myself may have been behind the eight ball even further. As long as people post what they personally know, as far as I'm concerned, there should be no problems. It is not considered an attack when I can say the man has $1000 of my hard earned dollars and has not delivered my product or spoken to me in over 6 months. That is fact, not an attack, as for some other posts on cgn regarding this topic.... That's another story, agreed.

To any guys who ordered from Adams lake and have not received your barrel. I will import it on my license for you at cost. You can pay through me or perhaps we can arrange direct payment to krieger if you are feeling "once bitten twice shy". Not sure how we will find the orders at krieger now, but I'm willing to help out at 0$ for me. Spread the word to others who may be in this predicament. I know it is small concellation to pay twice for your bbl but at least maybe we can get some into the hands of those who ordered them.

I am not going say to much here as many know that in the past 3 years of scratching out my niche as an M14 builder and stock maker.... While I've always delivered excellent product, I've had my challenges in delivery times and communication with the products and services I offer. Some folks simply won't deal with me as a result of some of those failures on my part, blowing up into "where's waldo?" Threads on cgn.
I will say that there are several folks who where contacting me with the same concerns as the OP. This summer I was literally bombarded with emails seeking results from adams lake barrels.
For my part, Ian always shipped, then billed. All orders were made by me on behalf of customers having rifles built on my bench. First 4 or 5 orders were when items were posted on CGN as "in stock". Then the issues began with, yup, it's in stock, I'll ship tomorrow. I collect my customers funds and when barrel arrives I emt the payment. Except no barrels come for months with no reply on any of adams lakes contact methods.
Then customers say I paid you do you have my rifle done. Bo I say, no barrel yet. I look like an idiot and still no barrels. I refunded two entire builds totalling 5400.00 due to lack of promised barrels or months of delays with "I'll ship it tomorrow, been sick, family issue ect ect and still no barrels.
There's much more to this story that I'm not gonna post here. BUT I'll tell you this.
I currently am waiting for a corrected invoice from Ian as I owe his business some cash. But the invoice is more than it should be by my records. So I sent an email 3 times since getting that invoice and no response.
I'll wait till year end and send him a certified cheque for what I believe is the correct balance.
I don't believe this should be an open trash fest on a guy that has garnered the respect of a great many shooters out there. On the other hand, I caution those who jump to defend him considering he has dropped off the planet since august.

Talked to the Chase RCMP Detachment today, and there is already an investigation on going into Adams Lake Barrels. The lady there is quite nice and helpful. My own local detachment just gave me the run around. I faxed in my documentation. So if you find yourself in the same situation as me, you should contact the Chase RCMP detachment at 1-250-679-3221, and get yourself added to the list. Yours truly, Cheeto

Not cool, I talked to Ian a couple times and he seemed decent. I'll note that I am self employed and that its possible to carry on business thinking your making a profit and when the year end numbers arrive you didn't.
If his business declares bankruptcy, most claims will have to be chalked up as bad debt. Talk to your accountant about whether this can be a tax writeoff, if this becomes a reality. You may be able to already anyway, and it may be faster too.

Not so. If a consumer pays a deposit for merchandise and it is not delivered or the deposit is not refunded it is fraud. Even if this is a limited company the director(s) would still be liable.
I ordered barrels from Ian, As I remember I paid deposits and final balances with a credit card. If you paid with a credit card and have not received a barrel you should contact the CC company. I believe you should be covered through CC insurance for this sort of situation.
You still would have to go through the courts to have anything done but if it is bankruptcy and you have paid in full the receiver should be in touch with you but partial deposits may be sol.
And noone will be getting any tax savings from the loss unless you were going to use the barrel for business purposes.
With stuff like this coming out I know for one I will be more contientious over who gets my firearms dollars in the future
