Maybe some of you can enlighten me on the topic. I've always known of Timberwolfs but never paid much attention to them because for the most part I just figured they were out of my league. Well, I had an opportunity to buy one and did. It's in an A5 stock, but I think I like the idea of a chassis system more for just a "lay down and shoot" style gun. Looks like some of them are available in an "LSS-XL" chassis, and some are available in a "folder." Looks to me like the LSS-XL is made by MDT and the folder is made by PGW. Correct me please if I am misunderstanding. Can I either go to MDT and purchase that chassis for the Timberwolf, or should I contact PGW for their folder? What would your guys' recommendations be? All this stuff is a little newer to me as I've always been more into the higher end bolt hunting rifle genre. Appreciate the help

I always thought that the PGW had a "proprietary" footprint, I think, I would contact PGW and see what would work? if the MDT will fit without modification, then you can go "shopping" if not? then you can start the search for a PGW folder? or buy a new one?

BTW, IIRC, they may have "closed the doors" by now? so calling the company may not be doable?, however I'm sure they are owners here who can answer your question?

Thanks mildot, yes I'm aware that they are shutting things down so to speak, but also mention staying open in a smaller capacity to serve current client/service etc. So I may end up reaching out to them. I just figured likely with all the PGWs floating around, someone in this great community has likely fooled with the same thing.

The LSS-XL is made by MDT for PGW for both the Timberwolf and Coyote. However I believe it is sold via PGW. Last I was speaking with them they have some left. Give them a ring tomorrow.

It's a shame that PGW has a proprietary footprint. Certainly makes it difficult for those that want to upgrade their PGW's in the future as new innovations and technology comes out, and I always thought the PGW chassis' left a lot to be desired for features and aesthetics. Terry Cross'/KMW's new Zealot chassis would've been perfect for a PGW rifle, if it did fit.

I would contact PGW first, and try and snag any remaining chassis'. If they are out, see if MDT will help you out. They are good people, and maybe this is something they will be able to help with.

Also, congrats on the rifle. That's a cool piece of history. Personally, I love the looks of the PGW's in the McM A5 stocks, they look like they belong in there.
