that gold makes your gun look like the Brink's guys M&P40 that they carry.
they have gold emblem on their guns.

i went with the white nail polish on my gun and mags.
same procedure, dab in then remove excess once it dries with non-acetone nail polish remover.

i REALLLLLLLY like it on my mags, can actually see those little damn stamped numbers now!

I've done this a number of time using Testor model paints. I didn't need any thinner to make it work. Just degrease the area with some acetone then fill the roll marks with a toothpick as others pointed out. Let it dry for a couple hours or so before cleaning off with a tightly folded paper towel with acetone. I find if you try to clean too soon, the paint in deep roll marks can get wiped out or will keep smudging and you'll have to redo it. I just let mine sit overnight before the cleanup. Some folks use nail polish and that cleans up just as easily with acetone. As for polymer mags, they are not damaged by acetone like some plastics.
