I recently aquired a new to me S&W model 16 in 32 H&R magnum. This is just a treat to shoot and boy is it ever accurate. No recoil either and like almost all S&W revolver just a great trigger. I know what a few are going to say that the ammo is expensive and hard to find. That does not affect me as I handload and cast my own bullets as well.

I am sure this will fast become one of my favorites if not my most favorite revolver to shoot. Here are a few pictures of the beauty. Oh yeah it came with the org. box and all the paperwork as well. I guess I was in the right place at the right time.

Beautiful gun... I'm assuming prohib based on the caliber?

Yes a beauty.

She's not listed as exempt from Prohibited in the Schedule of the Regulations Prescribing Exclusions from Certain Definitions of the Criminal Code (International Sporting Competition Handguns) (SOR/98-465). So yes, a 12(6.1) gun.

What's a sweet thing like that sell for, given the status?

Showstagoya how nonsensical the 12(6) prohib thing really is. If it was a M29, it would be cool and the world would be a safer and gentler place. Only in Canada, you say .... pity.

sorry, what makes it prohibited? The caliber? I thought it was .32acp and .25auto that were prohib calibers, this is clearly a revolver that isn't chambered for either. {nice wheel gun graydog:)}

Nahh, the law just says '32 and '25' - so lots of bizarre and obsolete calibres got tanked at the same time, along with calibres that hadn't been invented when the law was passed.

The brass can be found quite readily--Mystic Precision can get Star-line brass for a reasonable price. It is one of my favorite recreational cartridges--I shoot 98 grain wadcutters or 118 grain semi-wadcutters out of mine. I have had a 6" and presently own a 4" "double-prohibited" one. They are lots of fun to shoot.

They sure are fun to shoot. I have a buddy that has a Blackhawk which is also nice to shoot, mine you not as nice as a S&W.
