I have had no experience with that particular rifle - but I did saw off several inches from a Husqvarna barrel, and re-attached the front sight ramp. The rifle receiver had an aperture sight on the rear bridge, so did not need a rear sight on the barrel. Was partially about figuring out a spring loaded gizmo to hold that front ramp as the solder went molten - I wanted that ramp to go straight down and not wiggle off to one side or other when the two layers of solder went liquid - and did not want torch flame on the ramp / barrel to affect that spring. As I recall, required me to scrap off the bluing on the barrel - under that front sight ramp foot print - then thin layer of solder to barrel and thin layer to underside of the ramp. Much flux used to do that - likely much more than truly needed. Then level that ramp - then clamp with spring loaded thing - heat and let the two layers of solder to fuse together. Must have worked - that ramp has not fallen off yet - rifle was a 9.3x57 chambering. I think I used soapstone to coat the barrel where I did not want solder to stick - I have read of others using the "graphite" in lead pencils to do the same thing. I was just too "chicken" to do drill and tap for a screw into the barrel - I suspect is a more certain way to install it - but I did not have jig or mill to do that.
