I own one, but it's scoped. The problem you'll have is that the scope mounts are integral with the receiver and it's not easily removed (cut, grind, file and re-blue). With them in place, they will interfere with seeing any iron sights you add. You'd have to go with an extra 1/4" of height on the sights to clear the scope mounts which would "work", but would be craptacular.
You win some you lose some - it comes with solid scope mounts so no need to buy and install, but removing them would be a chore.
