Can someone point me at a source for these preferably?
I bought mine from Karsten himself, he shipped it up here for me and took me a whole 10 min to install it. He sends directions and 2 bolts/nuts with rubber padding that you can install onto the rest itself for comfort.

Hi,
I'm glad that I came across your reply, I, too, am in need of a proper cheek rest and that Karsten looks like it'll work well.
I believe that I've the same rifle as you; Savage 10fcp w. HS stock in .308. However, my model is black rather than green.
Al the best.
TAR.
Do you find those 2 carriage bolts protruding from the cheekrest comfortable to rest upon?
I can understand it being cheap and fast to install and am sure it works, just looks kinda crude.
I'll be having a Savage 10 FCP with the HS precision stock... any cheek pieces that don't require drilling available?
Very NICE Mr.rhtuner
Could the maker of the cheekrest have made those knobs any bigger??? I think he found them at an RV parts store because they look like the same ones as on the pull out awning of a 50'er.

Thank you!
I'm going to modify the stock this weekend or next week so I'll have some new 'progress' pictures
you made a nice choice, Look nice and Inexpensive!
Does Karsten have a website for his product?, give me an PM, if you have info, thank you!

As you can see, there are 3 type of bolts that can be had with the cheek piece. A sleeker design or a more 'adjustable' by hand on the go knob.

LongDraw, I believe he was referring to the 'convex' head of the bolt, which still don't bother me nor my shooters one bit.
Yes the McMillan stocks have the option of the adjustable cheek piece with a nice option of 'adjustment' wheels, but once again...you pay a lot for it with the stock or without a McMillan stock.

I'd consider buying a cheek piece but I don't want to make any permanent changes to a stock. Anything available like a tight slip on?
You can buy rests that strap onto the butt of the stock...such as the Black Hawk
